    430 Watts,to no effect.

Coming home tonight a BMW passed me (speeding of course, the Pajero doesn't go over 100kph) and it had both it's rear fog lamps on....wanker thinks I.But at the 80kph restriction at Mercer it appears I am behind Mr Dickhead....so I move up to tailgating distance and put on all my lamps - 60W headlamps on high,100W driving lamps and 55W fog lamps - 430W lighting up the inside of the Beemer like daylight....and,and....they have the sunvisor down!!! ,like,WTF? I dip my beams for oncoming traffic, but then get right on them again...he's pissed off and I get brake tested a few times, but the rear fogs stay on.At Hampton Downs he buggers off fast, still with rear fogs on.

So....I'd say he doesn't know the rear fogs are on....you press a little button on the dash and a picture of a lamp comes on,that means the lights are on,right? So I have proved my method doesn't work, they are going to have to be told - ''your fucking fog lamps are on dickhead!''

Or maybe the cops should start enforcing the new lighting rule that is now in force....for the Force to enforce????

He probably does not realise what the fog lamps are, what they are for, or the rules on their use.

Not one cage driver in 10 has any idea about them. He just sees a switch that turns lights on. It's night so he should have all his lights on. So he switches them on.

    They really are that stupid.

Although I am on the whole very sceptical about the police "dob in" website, this could be a good case for its use. A letter from Mr Plod pointing out his error might just produce results.

I turn them off every car I get into and they still don't get it. The newer BMWs turn themselves off every time you switch your lights/car off, which means the morons driving are just pushing buttons for the hell of it. It's one of my pet hates too. I even adjust homos front fogs to point at the ground if I find them switched on.

I saw an advert the other day that some of those fog lamps don't turn off!
I think it was BMW, they called them 'visability lights' rather than fog lamps.

Fuck off, you've been fed misinformation, they're Foglights in all the handbooks I've seen. I've never heard of "visibility lights" and I work as a mechanic at a BMW franchise

I thought white lights to the rear were illegal.
Reversing lights are obviously exempt cos they're effectively the forward lights when you're reversing.
I've never seen rear fog lights. What's the point of them?

They're red, just like brakelights but switchable for visibility from afar in fog

Dumbarse probably doesn' know his car has them - or even what they're for is he did.

Track him down and post him an 'imformative' letter.

I guess if you never got his number you're out of luck there though.

You're expecting the prick to be conscious.
I've tried to let a wanker in a boxster know that he was driving in the fast lane of the motorway with his lights off,but he was obviously too intent on his phone call

I notice this a lot with older BMW drivers, these lights are the same brightness as brake lights so it's harder to tell if they are braking.
I'd love to go into the local dealership, go to the service counter and instead of seeing BMW clothing catalogues, see some like “REAR FOG LIGHTS and YOU"

Stupid is right. What about the dicks that put their parking lights on in poor visibility?Don't they see other cars with the parking lights on and realise that they offer next to no additional visibility?
Oops, sorry,Now I'm expecting them to be thinking while at the wheel

Some of them are considerably brighter than brake lights!

I may be wrong, but it had some sort of black european car and two photos of it in the shadow of a row of trees, one of an older model and the new one with the low down foglights on... and saying something about increased visability and how they always were on.

I might have been wrong with BMW, I'll keep an eye out for the advert again in the tearoom at work.

Then again, the super bright lights on my Vstrom also don't turn off for the same reason, which has caused a few problems.
