    BMW HP2 Enduro

Sorry if this should be in a different thread. Just wanted to know if there are many BMW HP2 Enduros in NZ

Why was this model discontinued? I love the look of them and would love to own one. Would be a cool departure form the heavier 1200GSA

Haven't seen any for sale seccond hand either

I'd much rather have crash bungs scraping along the road than a cylinder head after the inevitable bin.

How well do they actually protect the engine though after a moderate speed bin?

    wooooooooohoooooo what a machine

    http://www.bikesales.com.au/used/bmw/hp2-enduro/

had one from BMWNZ for 3 days when they were released. What a machine. Took it up the Coromandel in gravel and on the twisties. Woohoo what a machine.

only brought 9 to NZ . They sold about 5 & then shipped the rest to Oz. Sold some with 2 sets of wheels.

One lives up the road from me.

    Quad cam innit? 110HP?

Looks well capable. The owner sure is. Wonder why they didn't turn it into a full blown production unit., even at a premium price.

How about a 100kph tumble into a field? Sure, needed some TLC by the shop, but any normal bike would have been destroyed. That's my opinion anyway.

Well they ended up being limited. There has been some debate on the exact number produced and in what specification, but it ranges from a few hundred to a couple of thousand... worldwide. I think the reasoning was that they were expensive to produce, didn't sell that well (while loved, comparative to other models in the range it had an limited market) and therefore discontinued. Plenty of people still want BMW to release another tho...
