Gone.........
When you've worn the gear a couple of times I'd be keen on a review. I want to buy some good gear and Klim is on the list.

Hi Eddieb, I have purchased the Klim Latitude 840 jacket and pants as well as quite a lot of other Klim gear and although I have only ridden in the rain once have found them to be good quality gear and waterproof.
I bought it directly from Klim in Rigby, Idaho and they were really good to deal with. That said, although I was aware of the exchange rate, GST and duty(customs) what I hadn't taken into account was the fee I was charged for the exchange rate and fee for the duty to get them out of customs.
The only trouble I had was the sizing of the pants (I measured 38 inches) but because the pants have a motorcross cut at the waist(quite low at belt height), I had to send them back and get the size 36 inch waist.
So I lost a few dollars on the pants what with extra freight, duty, GST etc.
I hope to be at the next Back Road Riders ride at Palmerston Nth on the 20/01/13 so you can have a look and a chat unless of coarse you are at the DB 1000.
Cheers
Bryn

A friend of mine, Peter Palmer and his wife are going to that. It should be a great week.
Was it "Duty" or something else?

So far they have been really good - few wee issues. The d3o armour doesn't like cold and goes rather stiff. Had to sew some Velcro extenders to the forearm adjusters, as they wouldn't stay in place. I wear them everyday so zips and stuff seem to be reliable. Only been in a couple of downpours and have remained dry.
...back in the saddle, and getting a little!
Hi Nordie, you have got me thinking now. This was the first time I had imported stuff and I got a call from customs who requested X amount of dollars for them to release it. The amount included GST for the items, fee for the exchange rate(US to NZ), duty, fee for the duty. It was being shipped by Fedex
I ended up getting three parcels and each time they requested money for the parcels to be released. The parcels were written down as clothing but NOT Goretex Moyorcycle clothing. Fool me.
I will know better next time. Thanks for the info.
