Shipping a bike from NZ to OZ and back...

Posted here since it's a cruiser, and a forum search didn't turn up what I was looking for. I have a three-month assignment in Sydney coming up, I'm looking for a company that'll ship an (older) Dyna from the North Island to Australia / Sydney relatively quickly, and then back again three+ months later; anybody have experience of putting a bike on Australian roads for the short-term (I'm assuming I don't have to comply with ADR's etc. for a holiday tour)

I looked at renting a bike here but it becomes cost-ineffective for that length of time

would be interesting if there is info on this! would be quite a cool holiday to ship bike over for a month or so and ride around aussie then ship back..
