    Arrow WARNING

on the way to work this morning on the NW.. i was politely informed by a very nice Police Officer that riding in the BUS LANES ON THE MOTORWAY is illegal.

thankfully, he let me off with a warning and told me the council will be sorting it out soon.. one way or another ( i say we SHOULD be allowed to use them.. your thoughts?)

thanks Officer.. you have a great day.. Donuts on me next time..

I know there have been 3.25 Million threads on this subject, but Transit and the TA's need to get their shit sorted out and their heads out of their collective arses!

Auckland has severe congestion, parking problems in the CBD. AND petrol is becoming veeeery expensive- allowing bikes into bus lanes will go along way to solving these problems. There must be hundreds of people up there who are looking at petrol prices ruefully, and thinking about buying a bike to commute on. If they knew they could also get to work MUCH faster by riding in bus lanes, that would be enough to nudge them into getting a bike. Then everyone would be better off.

OK- rant off, I've finished stating the obvious now.

Interesting point on people buying bikes because of high fuel prices. The strange thing is that my CBR uses about the same amount of gas as my old 1.8L Primera around town (possibly even more). I know I probably wouldn't save any money if I swapped the bike for the car.

Now that is weird, a guy at AMPS got a $500.00 ticket for that very thing. (I saw it).
Maybe the rate is higher for the fat cats on the Shore?

Thats cause you've got a thirsty bloody Honda!
I actually meant little commuter type bikes, not sports bikes, but yeh, you'd have to pick carefully.

My FZR1000 is pretty good on gas, but it's fuggen hopeless on tyres. I mean getting 5000k or less from a set from tyres doing mostly quiet commuting is bloody hopeless!
