Mag'. I was on the causeway and stopped just before the "pick-a-part" off-ramp. (Patiki?). I presumed the roadwords there are to put buss lanes in but when I emailed transit one time about 3 weeks ago they said their answer to bikes in the buss lane was "too dangerous for bikes to cross on/off-ramps with cars merging so no." oh, and that they are worried bikes will hold busses up, I would cos I can't do 100 on gravel 2 inches from stopped cars but I a little puss. Not like those highly skilled bus drivers, never been hit by one of those, no sir. But now I'm just ranting

Transits reasoning is horse shit! According to the way they think, bikes should never be allowed to travel in the left hand laneOriginally Posted by BrianGB
They need to take a look at the way it's done in pretty much every other country that has bus lanes, and then get over themselves.
My daughter telling me like it is:"There is an old man in your face daddy!"
Yeah, Its crap reasoning. I cycle couriered for 3 years and have been cycling almost daily for the last 14 years including the Whenuapai - city commute, (just over an hour, not bad for 1/2 HP eh?) They don't realise how aware cyclists and bikes are of the dangers around them, mainly because of the concequences. I've told people getting into couriering etc "you don't have dings on bikes". Do these people think bikers have the same psycology as a boy racer in an air-bagged cage? I like my legs, arms and face the way they are. (Well the face could be better, hehehe)
