    Small things....

Small things amuse small minds....I'm VERY fukking amused right now!

Just wasted a good 20mins of work time on this....not to mention the hour of setting up then riding to create it!

But wait, I'm getting ahead of myself. I bought a radar detector and bike mount from Ryan @ Discountbay - search for 'discountbay' in the forums. BLOODY GOOD BLOKE and good deal on the goods as well, friendly and great to deal with, he swapped the mount no problem when the sizing error was MY mistake...all in all a big

Anyway. It ocurred to me that a camera could be put on the mount....and therin lies the fun part....

See the attached - and BEFORE some smartass comments on the audio (I'm lookin at YOU, Waylander) yes it is the famous "annoying frog thing" which you can find 'ere:

    Enjoy.

Mate, I have been thinking about a radar on my bike for sometime now. How did you hardwire your radar?

Ryan gives bikers a free directwire kit (simply 2 wires with the right plug on the end for your detector and an inline fuse) so all you needs to do is find a switched 12V line and a ground.

Installing the alarm with remote start was a bit trickier but as you kow I have the service manual for the CBR so the wiring diagram REALLY really helps there.

PM me if/when you get a detector and i'll tell ya the wires you need - they are just under the tank cover and easy to get at.

Hahah the other CBR riders are all wanting more info straight away huh? ok wait.........

right, pix attached. The mount that will fit perfectly is a Techmount 18mm stem mount, the detector is the Escort X50 Blue, it comes with everything you need to directwire to bike then use the cigarette plug adaptor in a cage.

By the way, public thanks (and rep!) to Gixxer 4 ever for advice and photos and stuff helping me choose a detector

Total cost for all bits was $679
[EDIT - actually attached the pix this time.....need more coffee]

    Very good there.
I did have trouble seeing the guages in your heads-up display!
Perhaps it would show up better at night.. but then there wouldnt be much else to see

I too got an X50 off Ryan last month too. Good man to deal with. I went cheap !! Got the Red, and the mount is still in the ideas stage.
