I actually think it is an automated translator as I realised the intonations are not possible by human beings.

Anyway enough of that - the pics on the Cliffnotes are fantastic.

    Hilarious!

Those 2 guys sound just like the guys that work in my local building supplies, and at the tip, actually like most crazy French people!

    Great video!

Did anyone else notice the brief Gus cameo a minute in - maybe it was his Dad, Pappa-Gus!

    Anyway,
    Back to 2013...
Looks like a tricky day 2 for some, but looking through the top 50 bikes Faggotter the other Aussies seem to be in positions well above their start number/rankings...

Still struggling with the commentators voice though....

Official dakar.com site is pretty good, but how can I get to look at the bike results after 50th? Anyone know?

trackingdakar.nl is probably your best bet.

Pal Anders reports that someone had dug a 2m deep hole on the road that he managed to avoid at 150kph

TBH I got onto that vid when I googled Lada- they had some running as well as the mercs. The bikes looked incredible. I wonder if "doing" the dakar is easier or harder nowadays?

The France4 coverage looks pretty good. Pity I can't understand a word of it.

The "car" was a cop car.
Also the rider was coming down off the Andes and may have fallen asleep/gone wide as it was on a corner...

    Bugger
