TOP QUOTE: The problem with socialism is that sooner or later you run out of other peoples money.
There is no point complaining or campaigning. There are two constants in this world.
1. Motorbikes attract idiots, thats why alot of us got on them. In fact I think there has been idiots on motorcycles well before sane people started riding them. So I wonder why all the idiots out there aren't complaining about all the slow/careful riders out there filling up the roads.
2. Driver training nowadays is based upon Murray's book of dairy farming. The dumber and more cosseted the driver the better. Skills, patience, consideration and concentration are no longer needed. You just need to follow the thousands of signs, the rumble strips, and your GPS and if you cock up the armco, concrete barriers or the cheese cutters will save you before you run into someone head on.
I take a common sense approach to road markings. Sometimes, roads marked with broken white lines are pretty unsafe should really be double yellows, while some solid whites and even (much less frequently) double yellows are ok for a sensible, quick pass on a sportsbike. I am talking about situations where you can see the road ahead, any periphery roads, any dips/blind spots etc. and you can safely decide to pass. So yes, I ignore some white lines, but never at the risk of doing something stupid.
Oh...and the same applies to wheelies...time and place and all that. Perhaps off traffic lights in heavy traffic isn't a bright idea, but other times they can be done just fine.
Nail your colours to the mast that all may look upon them and know who you are.
It takes a big man to cry...and an even bigger man to laugh at that man.
Our yard at work is located at the bottem of a steep hill with a sharp left hander at the top of it.
Because that left hander is slightly off camber for people taking it as a right hander heading down the hill "most of them cut it well over the center line.
50 meters before that corner on the up hill left hand side is a side road that often has kids waiting for the school buss where it meets the main rd.
So I leave the yard an head up the hill in my truck "having to keep well out from the left side due to the kids being there "and one of two things happen quite often.
#1 some fool will pass me just as I get up to the side road and be completely over the line all the way around the corner. #2 some fool will cut the corner just as I'm coming up to it "and give themselves a fucking big scare when they see me there.
I've been waiting 7 years for the day both things happen at the same time,,,the only good point is when it finally does happen "none of the fools will be alive to blame me![]()
Jeez - why do you all give so much time, effort and space in your head to complain about what other people are doing?
Fuck me .. isn't it about time you all focussed on your own lives rather than worried about other people's ??? Or are your lives such non-events you need the excitemetn of other lives to boost your own ..
Or are you egos so big that you think you have moral position sufficient to criticise the actions of other people? ???
Either way - let it all go ... you will feel better and the world will be a better place without us all bitching about each other ..
"So if you meet me, have some sympathy, have some courtesy, have some taste ..."
I have respect for all painted lines on the road, especially in the wet!
Thanks Mom for the timely reminder and keep up the good work you and Maha do on mentoring new riders. Cheers!

I look at the situation, can I see through the corner and nothing comming, a nice smooth line is a pleasure of riding with out going over the line. If I cant see through the corner I late apex for safety and go a bit slower. I like to keep some in reserve so I can make ajustments to the line if some one is wide.
Now who was it mentioned the Rimutaka, just plain cruel to us In Aussie. Remember it like yesterday.
White lines/yellow (double or otherwise) own side of the road, don't mean squat to some..I have witnessed some OMGWTFFFF moments over the years.
And will probably continue to do so for years to come.
There are times when its possible to pass a slow vehicle where, whats painted on the road dictates that you really should not.
The worse case I have seen is, a bike in front of me, pull out and pass about 4 cars over double yellows and still on the wrong side of the road whilst going around a right hander.
I should point out that you could see through the corner, but cars can appear out of know where when you least expect it.
.........and not a crest in sight....![]()
I won't cross yellow lines, but if I can clearly see all the way through a corner I may choose to straighten it a bit.
However if there is any doubt otherwise, I stay on my side. It is fun isn't it to see your lane as the whole road and stay within it? Good practice?
I do see far too often, bikers completely ignoring any and all road markings. Probably in the belief they are high enough to see and small and quick enough to pass without risk. What is more apparent now too, though, are those lane-splitting at too fast a speed. Not much margin for error at any time, but these guys are just asking to be clobbered!
You don't get to be an old dog without learning a few tricks.
Shorai Powersports batteries are very trick!
Have to agree here.
For sure, that man did things that should not be possible on two wheels.
As for the road thing, I do my best to stay on my side, keep a bit of wiggle room both sides of me and hope that the other driver/rider is doing the same thing.
Well,Mr inc qualifies in the short arse dept......Surely everyone wants to be a short-arsed italian?
Hmmmm...riding style is slightly similar..........Or maybe Nitro Nori ???
And that doesn't mean you have to be riding slow, either.Originally Posted by Graelin

Over here, there are double whites, often, where there shouldn't be double whites! Often where there are passing lanes one side, there,s a double white so those coming downhill are not to pass! With 4-500m clear visibility! Fukem - we pass!
