Will need a good thrashing to run it in properly.

It's a bit pricey for me though. Still a nice bike, although for that sort of cash I'd prefer a CBR1000RR or R1, but unfortunately I'm a bit too much of a n00b to ride something like that.

    It's about $3-4000 too much.

Agree, starting price is way too high. Give him time and the price will come down.

Given there's effectively no difference between a 2k and 10k bike, and the punters know it, short of him getting a sucker I expect so.

The $2k SV will probably have a extra $2k worth of pipes and bling!

I though the very last summer fest SV's were arounf $10k brand spanking.

12-ish I thought. So he is dreaming at 10.

    And it has no bling.

    2000km vs 10000km.

There's a few cheap SVs on trademe.

I'd quite like one for commuting. Cheap enough to drop, rattles windows, and fits between cars. What's not to like?

(aside from the excess of power for the purpose, the fuel, tyre and chain consumption, the low pegs, the cheap suspension and the lack lustre build quality)

But seriously, for the price you can't go wrong
