I am sure you had a wonderful experience. Most do when bike under warranty. "yes sir, three bags full sir..."

Whenever I have visited RB their stock was more expensive than other places, the staff were not as knowledgeable on their products and when they suggested an alternative item... oh dear. Not in stock.

Don't know about their workshop... have to admit I have never dared ask them to work on my bike. I have heard too many horror stories... loose chains, forgetting to tighten bolts etc etc

Staff change though, I am sure if you go back in a few weeks all the sales staff will be different.

Agree. Can't personally apply this to motorbike-ing however this rings true in my occupation where I regularly deal with suppliers etc.

That is only true to a point.

I don't mind at all supporting my local dealer. And often do.
But when their price is 400-500 (or more) dearer then what I can pay for the same product from overseas websites and that includes the freight and taxes, then i will draw the line.
I've spent my money on bikes, booze and babes. The rest I've wasted....

The two shops are not connected in any way, any negative stuff has always been directed at ther Auckland shop. There is also a Red Baron in Wellington.

They have been really go for me in all my dealings with them. One time needed some new indicators that where no long being made. They found something similar at a good price.

yes you're right it IS your job to care, BUT, what a crock as well

IF you CARE? your customers do 'CARE', they come back for repeat business.
I'll go to my local dealer, (who also happens to be a Red Baron affiliated dealer) first and ask if they can get or provide an item I want... 75% of the time they will get it, and I am prepared to pay the little bit extra above the online retailers BECAUSE I get good service.
