Thumbs up Twin Cam Motorcycles - bloody awesome service

I needed to get a warrant for the SV so after visiting family up in Paraparaumu,
I dropped into Twin Cam Motorcycles near Paraparaumu Beach.

They start to inspect the bike and the first thing they tested was that the headlight beam
level is aiming at the correct height. This failed as it was too low.

Instantly I knew why it failed, as a certain Suzuki dealership in Wellington had recently set-up
my suspension for my weight. What they didn't do was check the beam level after doing so!

So Randall ( the owner of of Twin Cam Motorcycles ) sorts out the light level and does the
rest of the warrant check without issue.

He also had a good look at the suspension settings ( front and rear ) and starts to set them
    up properly for me.

So when it comes time to pay for the warrant I ask how much for all the extra work he did ( which
I was happy to pay for ). He wouldn't hear of payment and only charged me for the warrant.
Bloody generous if you ask me!

On the ride home I notice how much more planted the bike feels after his expert adjustments to
    the suspension.

I just want to say a huge thanks to you guys and I'll certainly make the trip up to your
workshop for every future service my SV needs.

Bloody good service and I highly recommend these guys.

I get my WoF there as well. I've had nothing but top service from Randall over the years I've used him. He understands his market and really tries hard to go the extra mile.

Ditto with my Wofs and all my part requirements, tires etc !

Do 99% of my own service and maintenance, so not so much of that side of things but....

Randall is always quick to pass on any knowledge and help with problems etc, knows that going that lil bit further will get a man coming back for more every time !
A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

    Bowls can wait !

He did a bit of work on one of my XJ550 that my brother had up there, good service and reasonably priced

I rarely post on KB any more, but I crawled out of my hole just to post about the great service I got from Twin-Cam.

I've been there twice for various things in the last 6 months, both times I got great service at a great price.

    Cheers Mike & Randall

+1 more to echo previous sentiments.

Randall likes to foster a grumpy aura but he is really a pussycat who will always do someone a good turn if he can. No BS, no staff too busy to talk to you, just get the work done at a very fair price.

Just another big ups to Randall at Twin Cam..

Rode the bike into work monday and I was just home and backing it into its possie and 'scritch scritch scritch'... feck it..

Rear pads worn away to 'less than optimal' and caliper a bit stuck (yeah the disc looks a bit sad too).. shit - we are going away thursday...

Quick squirt with some brake cleaner to free things up and a quick call to twin Cam.

'Hi Randall - its Paul N here what time are you there till'.....

"Hi Paul - just locked up - whats wrong?'

    Explain myself...

'Ok - bring in down and I'll wait till u get here'

    EXCELLENT...

Everything freed up, he ordered new pads and checked a couple of other things... Genuine good bugger. His first question was 'whats wrong and how can I help? Thats the kind of service you go back for... (yeah yeah I know its easier when you are a small business but still)

Well I hope you slipped him a little extra, for being a good bastard.

Nah he won't hear of it usually. But I never quibble and always pay on the spot. ;-) Might need to drop him off a few beers though

Yeah he gets my vote too. Often will do a bit extra for no charge - repeat business is his reward.
He did a quick and efficient tyre repair for me yesterday, I'm sure some places would be out to sell me a new one in the same circumstance.

not surprised when I saw this thread popping up again.
I got some aftermarket stuff on my new (to me) bike from TwinCam including a topbox. Stupidly I didnt check if my helmet fitted (big head) Had the box on for two weeks before I was somewhere I wanted to lock the helmet away. Too small!! aggghggghhhh!!!!
sent him an email that evening, explaining my predicament, asking what I should do. No problem, he would take it back and get me a new one.
I now have the worlds LARGEST topbox for a cracking deal. He apologised to me for the inconvenience!!!

Contrast this to a main dealership in town who have been getting me a key for my OEM panniers for the last 5 or 6 weeks. They just cant be arsed. After all this time I still have no key and am down one lock cylinder which fell to bits when I picked the panniers up from them. I am sure they will fix it but the hassle and time involved and the drawing teeth experience dragging it out is maddening.

Randall and Mikey are absolute gentlemen and if the Frenchman is there the entertainment is good as well :-) I reckon they could teach the big boys a thing or two about how to deal with customers

I think come Christmas time there will be a bottle of good bourbon going their way.
