Hello everybody, I've been looking around (trademe) for the old MC22's for the past month or so, and lately the ones in fairly good condition have been snatched up already. Anyone know of anyone whos selling one?

not right now, but there is a guy that sells heaps of parts for them in christchurch - look on trademe and do a search for mc22 parts - he may be able to point you in the right direction.
I wouldnt panic, thy come up fairly frequently
Heya, yeah I got one lined up that I'm having a look at in a couple of days. What I've seen so far are generally poorly kept bikes that people are asking around 3g for and fairly good condition ones that are between 3.5-5k. Is it worth dishing out 3.5k for bikes that are 20+ years old?
could always get a hornet they go pretty well imho and alot newer
plastic fabricator/welder here if you need a hand ! will work for beer/bourbon/booze
come ride the southern roads www.southernrider.co.nz
In my opinion, No.
I think they have been overpriced due to lack of options for learners - with the lams law in place now, I still expect to see these bikes drop to 1500-2500 depending on their condition, which is closer to what I think they are worth - whether that happens or not depends on whether or not people are dumb enough to keep spending 3.5-4k on 20 year old hang grenades that sound like a food blender going apeshit with their 19k rpm redlines, when there are a huge rnge of other bikes to choose from now.
but if its what you want, get it anyway
This. It's still the most entertaining (along with the 3LN3 and ZXR-A/C) LAMS bike in the lower end of the price range
And, if you're being genuinely fussy you're more likely to get a good example, of which there are many, don't be fooled by the FIAT driving, socks and sandal wearing limp wrists who think just because it's old, thrashed, abused and done many kms... wait... bad argument
As you were
Great bikes, buy carefully
