After living in Perth for 12 years, (17 years in Oz, 6 1/2 years back in NZ) I still keep an eye on the goings on in WA and Oz in general, can't really avoid it while I'm still travelling to Australian waters for work. After some tough years out in the bush living on the bones of our arse, Perth is where we finally started getting our shit together. It's also where one of my missus' young road racing workmates put bikes back on the radar, and a visit to the track was the start of a slippery slope. That young bloke went on to become State Superbike Champion while I went on to....well, best not go there. But one of the blokes he battled against was Matt Battista, a guy much like Choppa he was a very successful motocross racer who had turned his hand to road racing and was instantly quick and getting quicker. He took over as the man to beat in WA and stepped up to contest ASBK.....then it all went horribly wrong. What happens next just blows me away..........
