Funs over. I meant this whole thread as a joke. I don't like being called a yank but it doesn't offend me. Most peaple call me by my real name or Waylander anyway do I hardly hear it. Except when someone is talking about the states in a deragatory (spell that right? cant be arsed checking) way.

You folks need to lighten up.

(I wonder when I'll become famous enough for my own smilie. lol. We have a Hitcher and a Wari and a Spudchucka. Wonder what the Waylander would look like....)

now see Way.. thats a whole other can of whoopass..i wear the "YANK" tag proudly.. when someone starts running thier suck about how awful the US is.. i have plenty of arguments for them. when i first got here to NZ.. i got into a discussion with a young Frenchman about the US War On Terror (tm) and how Imperialistic the US is and how its all about oil ( which it isnt.. i wont even respond to those who flame over that ..).. anyway.. to make a long story short.. when i finaly had enough of him i asked him...

    "Do you speak German?"

    he answered..

    "of course not.."

    to which i replied..

    " YOU'RE WELCOME!"

pretty much ended the discussion afterthat ..

Listen all.. i, of all people know the USA isnt perfect .. far from it.. matter of fact.. the US i grew up in does not exist anymore.. but the PEOPLE ( Yanks) are a good sort.. i myself will go out of my way to help a friend in need..as will almost anyone raised in the States. the US leadership has lost its way recently ( since Ron Regan) but i will stand behind them ( i respect the office if not the man..) Bush is a twat..i know that.. he is a complete hand puppet of big business. i do not agree with his policies at all sometimes, but he is my Commander in Chief and i will defend the Office of the President of the USA, it's Soldiers, Sailors and Marines with my final breath

yes im a Yank.. i'm arrogent, loud, mean spirited and opinionated... but if any of you are in need of help... count on me to be there if humanly possible ( yes.. even you who talk shit about us..)

Without exception (I think) every American I have personally encountered has been a thoroughly good chap , and a pleasant and likeable person. Why then is it that your governments are invariably such utter arseholes? One would think that a in democracy , if the people were decent, the govenment would be decent also. But it doesn't seem to work that way.

It's not a demographic thing either. When i was in the USA I met (accidentally) and spent the evening with, a member of the State Senate of some state or other (I didn't even know that the individual states HAD their own Senates - educational). He was a fine chap - educated, refined, cultured , thoroughly pleasant. We got on like a house on fire. Why do they become dofusses when they get into national politics?

same reason they do down here i guess.. trying to please everyone to start with and folding to the whims of the assclowns with the money to fund the re-election campaigns..
a very good friend of mine is on the Cleveland Ohio city council.. we went to school together and 20 years ago i would have given my last bite of pizza to him.. then he got elected.. over the next few years , he bent to the pressures of the power-brokers and ended up selling out..

i dont talk to him anymore..

im sure Helen and Don used to be good blokes too..

Now I understand just why you have so many posts having only been here since the start of the year. Free country and all, but I'm sure this shit actually costs someone something in terms of web space. Just my opinion, that's all but I think this thread is a waste.

what cracks me up is the fact that Helen's office is rght next door to a DENTAL LAB..

also.. why is it that when we get close to elections, Helen starts looking more like Demi Moore in the tabloid pictures? then after elections she looks like some tranny gone wrong again.

I heard a story once that they made some minor adjustments to the border between the States and Canada. It was all done on paper, and then they sent surveyors out with survey pegs to mark it out.

All went well until they came to a nice little log cabin - right smack in the middle of the new border line. Okay, which side should they go?

Nothing else for it, they knocked on the door and explained the situation to the old-timer inside. Which country did he want to be in?

The old guy thought long and hard, and eventually said "I want to be in the USA".

Okay, no problem, said the surveyors. But why the States?

"Because I can't stand those Canadian winters!".
