Knee braces

Can anyone reccomend a good option for knee braces, without spending so much that the wife will divorce me?

Are any of the cheaper ones such as the 661s/EVS actually any good?

Would like some protection, but at this stage not willing to drop $1000 etc on the high end ones such as Alpinestar/pods.

What sort of riding are you doing?
What sort of rider are you, i.e. mad, likes doing all the jumps and hard shit, quiet, likes a nice picnic?

I spent the money on pods and they have been well worth the money.
Got the missus a pair while on special so you can just wait for a good deal.

Mainly doing motocross. Not competitively, just a regular practice rider.
Not a complete maniac, but am getting faster and starting to attack the larger jumps with more confidence each time.

Then get the best. Yes they might be expensive but a blown knee is more costly.
The knee seems to be like the back where damaged builds up over time then lets go. (this is my observation and not a scientific study)

Have you noticed how all the top riders seem to walk with a limp?

And a neck brace if you don't already wear one.

You don't need to spend 1000 bucks to get a decent pair of braces......i have the asterisk ones cause i prefer the full neoprene buckle system,i tried pod k700s' but they do up with 4 velcro straps which i found uncomfortable tho they are less bulky than the asterisk ones.......once you get used to riding with them they feel fine.......i probably couldn't ride without them(had ops on both knees)check some of these out

Best protection you'll get under $400 per knee

Damn good support and saved my ass quite a few times and not to far behind my mates $1000 knee guard set.

They used to be about $165-00 but even cheaper now???

I can second this. Have had a pair for about 2 years now. Taken a pounding and held up really well. Its also obvious now that the only part that's going to give in the near future is the straps, starting to show their age. Only moan is the velcro pinching, but some light leggings or long socks fixes that.
