I would like a linkage repair kit for my 82 XR200r monolink, cant seem to find one. Anybody got some ideas where to go?
There's a guy out in Whitford you could try. Can't remember his name but he gets suggested on here at least once a week, if not more. Do a search.
They are just steel spacers that run directly in nylon bushes (without roller bearings) and I'm not aware of any aftermarket option being available.
You will need to use genuine Honda parts - or get spacers and bushes custom made.
All-Balls do kits part no 27-1028 for the linkage, swingarm kit 28-1021 all available on Ebay, though should be available here as there is a NZ stockist for All-Balls.
Try EconoHonda in Te Aroha he has a lot of old Honda stuff.
Cheers
Merv
I tried to get the same for my '82 XL250, Honda listed the parts but all up it was about $700. Ended up getting dad busy on the lathe and making some bronze bushes and steel pins instead.

I deal with powersports on a regular basis and have had great service from them.
They have, like most outfits do, a minimium charge for postage so it's usually worth looking at a set of plugs and other small bits you may be needing for this and other bikes to fill up the package.
Yep, me too.
Last purchase was a new fuel tap for the kwaka, to justify the shipping decided I shoud buy an original toolkit and some spacer washers that were missing for the DRZ
The front brake on my XL didn't work either, inside of the drum was too worn even with new shoes. I 'fixed' it by making a shim for the post from a strip cut out of a coke can, was enough to get it back into sensible adjustment range.

Sounds like it, felt normal as the springs between the shoes provide the return pressure, but the shoes weren't reaching the drum so no brakes.
When I adjusted it enough for the shoes to contact the drum the cam rotated too far and jammed between the shoes so the brake stayed on, shimming the fixed end took up enough of the slack for it to work.
