Now in 3rd and a few minutes behind the leaders it was time to push like hell again, at the 1 hour stage i had made up over 2 minutes on Graham and was only 20 seconds off his rear wheel , it looked possible to challenge for the lead again, but a series of mishaps knocked me back and i started to feel the effects of pushing too hard earlier and could no longer hold my pace. So at the half way stage i simply just had to ride a steady pace and save the bike for a solid 2nd place finish, slighlty dissappointed but on the positive side learned a lot today and really looking forward to the next race. Have to concede that Graham set a high standard today , the event was great and the course much tougher than expected due to the snow and amount of riders ripping up the track to expose a lot of roots and rocks.![]()
