Thumbs up Big thanks to "Old Rider" Otematata

The KB brotherhood worked exeptionally well when on a riding holiday (30/12/12) & coming out of the Danseys Pass via Duntroon I had a motor noise that concerned me enough to know it needed my attention ASAP.
I nursed it through to Kurow, where I considered stripping the top end @ the Kurow Garage. But on 2nd thoughts phoned "oldrider" just 27 kms up the valley in Otematata.
I always carry a few tools on my classic, but realised I was missing a few key tools for the job I was about to attempt. John said come up, & use his garage.
Its sooooooooooooo great when an ex biker, & fellow KB'er goes out of there way to put you back on the road. We got straight on to the job, borrowed tools from locals around Otematata (the old adage "its who you know" etc) fixed the mechanical issue & fired up the bike in 3.5 hours. Then off to the local club for a well deserved beer.
Even nicer when Johns wife Phillipa asked "You are staying for Tea?" & "Would you like to stay the night" & we chat until 1.00am in the morning.

New Years eve morning & back on schedule to Omarama for the party I was destined to attend. Nice!
    Thanks Guys.

    Well done John.

And there is no such thing as EX biker ... The feeling always remains. Health and safety reasons may prevent ... but it doesn't stop the wanting.

No doubt about it - John and Phillipa are genuine good eggs....

Good to see the X75 being used as intended.... ;-) Too many just sit in 'collections' and are never seen - well done sir..

What was the little issue an inquiring mind needs to ask???

A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

Fantastic read guys, well done Old Rider and Phillipa, see folks, there is a God and in the south he's called Old Rider, fixer of tool vaporization and maker of miracles.
Great to see such a beautiful machine on the road, glad the problem was solved good and proper.
Every day above ground is a good day!:

Very nice bike, A fella in Ross had one parked outside his house over labour weekend for people to gawk at. Nice chap he was too.

    Cog

Doesn't sound too bad when it's going either. I also liked the helmet.

Here is a short clip of it leaving Beaumont Pub after the Sth Island KB lunch ride.
