    MOAR PICS!!!!!
The counter weights on the crank shaft were quite a bit out of balance, I think I skimmed 30 grams off the worst one. And my aftermarket pistons were pretty bad too. You'd think they'd be the same, but manufacturers only produce things to a cost effective standard.

Mikuni's? Nah, if I want to get better performance out of the carbs setup, I'll put my HRC set back on. Just not necessary for my current intentions. I need to develop my riding skills before I even think about doing that though.

Why is everyone so insistent on me getting a bigger bike?

    A. I can't afford another bike at the moment
    B. I already have a bike that fits my needs perfectly
and C. I don't want another bike right now!

Eventually, I will be looking at a bigger bike, probably something along the lines of a CBR600 or a CB600 or similar. Unless I can find a thou for a really good price that is! but that's a LONG WAY off yet, I've got (hopefully) 3 years of Uni to get through first!

Oh sweet, gives me time to finish me little 650 then. Would love to ride Puke. See how my lap times compare to my old race car. But as the track will be different that don't really work.

awesome work, im going to be doing the same with my 91', new fairings have just arrived. may think about painting the frame now having seen what black looks like.

Did you get the heel guards yourself or did they come with yours?

My heel guards are custom made, came with the bike. Eventually I'm gonna put some tyga rear sets on it, with new heel guards.

Definitely go powder coat, heaps tougher than paint!

What colour fairings did you get, and where from?

picked up a set from http://www.austmotorcycle.com/shop/p...22-repsol.html

im thinking it might be a bit of a mission taking it completely to bits to respray cause i dont have a garage so might end up just polishig the frame and cleaning up and respraying some bits like the rearsubframe , triple Tee and the guage/headlight brackets.

Yes, it is a bit of a mission. I tried polishing my frame first too, but I found I couldn't get an even finish, it looked really patchy... and the fact that cleaning the anodizing off the frame was a hell of a job, I gave up in the end. I had seen a powder coated frame and decided that I wanted mine like it!

Another cool little trick you might want to consider... black adhesive vinyl covering the frame. Same look (ish!) but heaps easier and cheaper to do!

maby il just give it a good clean, not so much a polish. spray the rear subframe black though after doing some surface rust removal. Same with some rust removal on the front brackets.

how long did it take you to get it all to bits, then back together after doing the powdercoating?
I do want to look at getting the wheels done orange though. would you recommend whoever you used for powercoating to do it?

To strip anodising use a strong oven cleaner. Depending on the temp and anodising I usually wipe it off after 15min (on a large part).

Getting an even finish is piss easy, use a sanding block and wet/dry paper.
