    Roadworks complaints?

Does anyone know the correct authority to contact to complain about the state of a roading "repair"? On the Orere-Matingarahi Rd (Kaiaua to Kawakawa Bay), just before Deerys Rd, there has been roadworks done, and there is loose gravel on the road. If you are coming from Kaiaua, it's on a left-hander, with a blind crest, and you can't see the gravel until you crest the rise. No signage at all. Kawakawa Bay to Kaiaua you're okay, as it's on the other side of the road. At least the guy on the Busa behind me got some warning, when I stood the bike up, and managed to put it into some car wheel tracks. To be honest the whole road is pretty shite, melting tar, loose stones all over the place, but that really filled my undies. Auckland Transport website just seems to be a puff-site lauding how awesome (Auckland) public transport is.

Point it out to the local council - if there is an accident because of the loose metal the council is responsible ... district councls have been prosecuted for this where there have been accidents

That seems to be the way roading is done out that way. Sky high Rd and Burnside Rd have both been resealed in the last few months. Seal goes down, and signage is put up.... a few days later the signage is taken away, all the loose gravel is just left there. Makes cycling/motorcycling not so much fun for quite some time afterwards.
If you can keep your head when all about you are loosing theirs.........it's quite possible you haven't grasped the situation.

If you ask them to go check out/fix the road be prepared for a possible follow up call from someone saying, "We don't see the problem with it."

That's exactly what happened to me when I asked them to sweep a dangerous bend turning into my road that was littered with gravel from their last roadworking escapade. When they finally got around to it they did a half arse job anyway and still left a ton of it around.

Not trying to sound too cynical, but don't get your hopes up.
