    HMCC Laws Hill

    Hey

Good ride at Laws Hill today, the 2nd loop was going pretty sweet with a whole lot more traction than the first loop.

Then my mate fell off or did something to himself right after where the helicopter had landed (approx 12:20). he's still a little in lala land and has no idea what he did. when he caught up to me he couldn't remember much about anything. and of course he hadn't turned his go-pro on, duh.

Just wondering if anyone saw him after the helicopter, i was waiting for him about 4 minutes down the track and when he got to me he was history.

    pic of morgan attached.

and big thanks to the marshalls and st johns guys who looked after him, great job!

    cheers.

I went out on a second lap straight away and practically had the whole track to myself - no dust and slow riders - magic

twas the 4th lap before I got a clear of dust lap. Love those A sections, not too hard for a muppet like me, don't have to do or die to do them & a nice explore around the place type feel to them.

Waited till 2nd lap for the grass to dry out before doing them.

That last hill down to the carpark sure is stuttery, I swapped onto Porters 300 with the Ohlins, & it was if anything worse. But I'd got passed down there on the 2nd lap by a dude on a DR350 so maybe I'm just a pussy.

Or maybe he'd run out of brakes

As you know pete I spent most of my day fixing my flat tyre which occurred about 2/3 through the first lap. However the tube replacement was a success and we did get one lap in in the afternoon including all the A sections. Fortunately the 450 tractor can pull even the most average of riders up those hills though the helmet cam had run out of space so didn't get any footage of the accomplishments. Have some good stuff of the opening bits that I might chuck on youtube if I can find the time. As for the ride - great weather, great spread, awesome track.

Had a great day. Although I have never seen so many injured or crashed persons at the beginning. Must have been the mixture of greasy grass and throttle enthusiasm. Great ride though.

ok totally bummed that you guys enjoyed the 2nd and 3rd and 4th loop. all we got was the slippery/dusty 1st loop and a taste of a good 2nd loop. was looking forward to doing the A sections.

looks like morgan will never know what happened to him, his memory of that day is still in a 'confused' state.

yeah post your vid when you've edited it patrick, i think morgan had his go-pro for at least some of the time so when his head has cleared he'll have some video as well.

while morgan was being attended to there were at least 5 others getting checked out, common theme seemed to be 'you really really should come with us in the ambulance to the hospital, but as long as you know the risks and sign this i guess we can't make you'. we're all either hard fuckers or dumb arses. HMCC rides usually tend be some of the safer rides, maybe just the slippery hard ground and the first ride back after the xmas break caught them out.
