plenty of intuitively obvious things well vocalised.
i did like the one guys comments about choosing to get on a bike, taking your life in your own hands means taking responsibility for your outcomes, regardless of 'fault' under traffic laws and so on.
i do most of my riding in auckland traffic (daily commuter) and started splitting a couple of weeks into ownership. i do agree that its a more natural and potentially safer way to ride than trying to be a car. i've been doing it for 3 or 4 years now without incident.
its also far less stressful, but thats a personal benefit![]()
Education not Legislation
Motorbike = Lanesplitter, simple as that.
Why are they so slow?
If a man is alone in the woods and there isn't a woke Hollywood around to call him racist, is he still white?

I sit in traffic like a car cause I'm too scared to split!
Becoming fearless isn't the point. That's impossible. It's learning how to control your fear, and how to be free from it.
As always the justification for lanesplitting is "because I physically can" and "because that's what I do". Which doesn't seem like much of a justification, but if you get away with it then great for you.
Happily it's non-issue where I live because a 'long' line of traffic is about six cars at a stop light.
I got bored after a minute and turned it of. Jesus F Christ a video discussing lane splitting!
A few minutes into it i started retching, there was waving then there was again waving and now this
Watching that was right up there with bothering to read the cover of Womens day, actually its worse women love that shit because
...there women.Modern day motorcycling will soon feature on the cover of Womens day no doubt.
Be the person your dog thinks you are...
So was I at first, but you just gotta do it. You'll never learn if you dont. Start small, fighting your way upto the front of the lights. Its not that bad really. Plus you dont want your engine to over heat.
I dont tihnk this video was really ment for 'us'(bikers), but more for the people that seem to think lane splitting is 'bad' or 'wrong' or 'unsafe'. When really, its not 'bad', or 'wrong', and where it can be 'unsafe' so is sitting in bumper to bumper traffic in a cage. The amount of people I have seen on the northern motorway heading into town from Esmond Rd on ramp reading the herald while they are sitting in the traffic, even at 30km.... At least if we are lane splitting, we are(or should be) paying more attention then most of the cages on the road. I personaly thought the video was, while yes abit boring, quite a good video, and needs to be viewed by more non-bikers. So should alot of those RideApart videos, they seem quite good.
