Yeah inlinefour has nailed it right on the head - there ain't a shortage. Blame the corrupt 'free' superpower controlled by oil kingpins who extort everyone. (Hate that craphole soooo much sometimes )

Really pisses me off when this stuff happens, Oil has such a large stranglehold on day to day life that if you control oil you control life. Plain and simple.

If this does get to $3 I am seriously considering ethanol (free fuel anyone ) when they figure out how to make it stable while sitting in the tank, or i'll just mix it with small amounts of petrol etc.

As I jokinlg mensioned in some other threads Ethonol 85

you can mix it in any quantity with gas, can be made from almost anything fermentable ,,,and I ride an Enfield ,,that was designed to run on pool petrol,,,yehaaa ..and does increadable km/l ...AND is 7k new ,,,, oh and the price of spares ,,,cheap... ( oops off on a tangent again sorry )

Ethonol ...At the mo it would be getting the stuff to ferment on a regular basis would be the prob ...( Mow yer lawn Missus ???)

but If I used my Enfield regulary as per usual .. would need 5 litres a week ,,possibly less ,,, Some people I know make the same amount to drink !!!

Just me Internet I would be worried about ,,,and some vital part that can only be made with petrolium other that that ,,,do i need petrolium,,,nope not that I could see...

Just means I have to get out of bed earlier on sat ,,to make me white lightnin....err Ethonol !! officer honest :hbd:

WOW ..u would be Sc%&'' ed if you lived in Finland FFinland ( the country Id like to be,,,,)
And Japan is 1/2 tax ..thats good ..as our gas is a cheap as $%&''(( I fill up the Ellesion ( about 40 litres or so ) and it costs me about 5000 yen ,,,
to put that in perspective ,,2 bits of chicken and a ceazar salad and three stubbies of dark alr was 3100 yen ...a bottle of cheap auzzie plonk 980 yen ....that was the cost of a nite out ( friday ) which was quite cheap ...

So we fill the car up once every 2 or three weeks ,,,wow remove the tax and it would be cheaper than water ,,,( 330ml 120 yen )

I was thinking last night that motorsports will be the first to have to stop using petrol as everyone will believe they aren't nessersary and fuel should be saved for the public. Since Hydrogen powered engines are heavy and wouldn't make good high performance vehicles, and electric vehicles need a shit load of batteries weighing it down also, most motorsports might be likely to turn to Nitro Methane

How much does a litre of Nitro Methane go for nowadays?

That point about the oil companies controlling prices is an interesting one. Using that logic prices will keep increasing until demand starts decreasing, and I don't think there's any sign of that yet.

The other point I thought of is that if prices are destined to keep increasing (peak oil and all that), all the money we are spending on roads is a very poor investment. Few people will be able to afford to use them.

I reckon it should be public transport/push bikes/feet for commuting, and internal combustion engines for recreation

Thats a good point,,,,,I wonder if it has been pointed out to the powers that be ...which would make Rail / Bus/ alt fuel ...a better investment ,,,,So why then are they investing in roading ??? ( I mean that was a quite obvious point ( a very good point which I hadnt thought of )....
AHH someone is make MONEY ,,,,,follow the money trail ,,there lies the answer ,,,

Still bugger all compared to a cage.
Remember to never split an infinitive. The passive voice should never be used. Do not put statements in the negative form. Proofread carefully to see if you words out. And don't start a sentence with a conjugation. (William Safire)
