Is there any newbie riders out there interested in Cafe racers as a commuter/weekender??

from the feel of the forums it seems like all newbies are wanting to get sports bikes. is this true? am I by my lonesome?

If by an off chance, something happens to the GPz I'll most likely make it into my own cafe racer.

    If.

Its a bolt on kit from the RYCA boys in the states. apparently its only 40hrs work (+ paint). looks good though.

I would buy a thruxton if i could afford it. I love those things.

Yeah I would but lack of fabrication expierence would probably be a hinderence.

And with the Kit i would still be doing all the wrench work.

I love cafe racers unfortunatly my aging body does not. Mental capacity must be diminishing too as I'm thinking of a Sportster for my next bike.

Yes and no. I am going for the hot rod theme with cast mag wheels but with touches of traditional cafe racer look with single seat cowl and fender elimination kit. Looking at relocating the number plate to the side also. Got the Norman Hyde "M" bars with Napoleon bar ends mirrors. Open megaphone pipes a must as well

To me, the exhaust setup needs another look. It doesn't quite suit. Not sure just how I would change it tho
