    Don't do that

I'm desperately trying to keep my bike practical and comfy. I don't need that set of clip ons and that single seat unit I have my eye on....

Nice. I know someone not a million miles from me, okay, my back neighbour, who just arrived home with his "new" bike, an '08 Thruxton in red with the sports mufflers. Looks and sounds very nice!

Cafe racers are the cat's knees. I'm turning my SR500 into one as soon as I've got the garage set up in my new flat and a little bit o' coin in my purse.

Here's my current project - still in progress GN125

Hey guys, here's my little project under way, It's a GN125.

I have done the following to it

    - painted black
    - straight handle bar custom made
    - bar end mirrors
    - center stand removed
    - pillion pegs removed
    - rider pegs moved back
    - gears reversed (racing gearing)
    - new brake lever system custom made
    - changed muffler
    - rear guard removed
    - new number plate and stop light bracket custom made
    - number plate slimmed
    - new stop light/number plate light installed

    Still planning to:

    - change tail piece and seat
    - bog tank and repaint (getting rid of the dent)
    - change front end to something with better brakes, forks and all that jazz (possibly GSXR250 front end - 17" wheel - currently 18")
    - mini LED indicators (all 4)
    - changing rear wheel to a VTR250 drum version or VTZ250 drum version (17" wheel - currently 16")
    - Paint detailing
    - Short stroke crank
    - Boring carb
    - looking to put a ninja 250
    - paint engine, etc. (all black)

Do you guys think that It's super uncool to put an LED glow in the frame? (either red or blue)?

Removing the rear pillion pegs and keeping with the original double seat means the bike should fail a WoF.

"Slimming" the plate is also an offense and may incur an infringement notice. And may also prevent getting a WoF.

LED glow = gay wannabe boy racer.
Changing front end and wheels = a lot of work for a shitty budget commuter bike that is never going to be fast, cool, good handling or worth more than what you paid.
    Race pattern gearshift - why????
Center stand removed = you've just removed a massive boon to maintenance on the bike.
'Short stroke crank' - You want to fuck with compression ratios, head skimming etc just to give your bike LESS capacity?
By 'put Ninja 250' I assume you mean motor transplant. A lot of work way out of your reach, also putting a twin in a bendy frame not designed for it - a good idea do you think? It's a shit motor anyway.

I love modified cheap bikes. Not everyone can afford to fuck with something flash.

Race pattern shift will be a mission, you'll need to use rear sets off another bike with a shift linkage to the geabox, stock is mounted straight to the box.

Fork conversions are silly easy, if the stem on the triples you're swapping in is too short or a funny size you can't adapt bearings to, all you want to do is get a front end, and have s steering stem turned up for it and pressed in, or you may even be able to press the GN stem in to GSX triples

Go hard and enjoy the little bike.

This will end up as a little toy in my garage rather than a road bike

Haha, This is just a play project, so my reasoning for all this is pretty much NIL.
-Race pattern gears = because i'm used to it
-center stand was in the way of the FXR muffler and I have stands for front and back = no worries
-by ninja 250 i meant piston - didn't type it in

All in all, I'm just experimenting. Last I checked, I'm not hurting anyone, customizing this bike to how I like it to feel... pretty simple really.
I'm aware that its just a GN125, but it was my first bike and I just want to fuck with it

Looks pretty good on the GSX forks.

Race pattern was actually incredibly easy, weld the pegs further back, flip the gear lever over, bend it out a bit, etc.
What was near impossible was the rear brake - The pivot point of the brake mechanism (drum) is EXACTLY where the pedal needs to be. But myself and an awesome engineer defeated physics and welded a new pivot point on, fabricated a custom brake mechanism and won the war!
