Naaa ... I'd rather they were behind me ... as I've said before ... If they are in front then you come across the mess they make ... if they are behind you you never knew it happened ... and the mess they make does not fuck up your day !!!!

Any idiot could see we were going to be stuck behind the camper van for the next 5 kms. Can’t see why he so desperately wanted to get in front of me. No acknowledgement either.

Is it bad manners to do that to another motorcyclist? Certainly felt it to me. Yes, I have decided he was a dickhead.

And, is there such a thing as “splay-footed” riders? He was one of them. Looked goofy-as.

If anyone else would like to vent, be my guest.

Very true. Nice to air it sometimes though. When I first starting repping I was a drooling loon and the slightest transgression made my blood boil. Then I learned to chillax on the roads. Doesn't mean there aren't jerks out there though. I try to behave myself on the roads these days. Still human though.

He wasn't "Picking on a GN rider" he was trying to overtake a slower vehicle, which happened to be you. If you subscribe to to the "I was in front so I should go first" theory ... perhaps he thought you were the rude one. On a GN you let faster vehicles go first. To not do so IS rude. The Suzuki 750 something would have a far greater overtaking ability than you could imagine on your GN. (in your wildest dreams even ... by comparison) even with double yella's ...

As has been said ... move out of their way and keep yourself safe. Don't involve yourself in their antics and incidents ....

Both the ER5 and the GS500 would be far superior machines for you than the GN. And would have managed that particular overtake a lot easier than on the GN.

If you do "Know the road" and pick the time ... all things are possible. (even ON a GN)

You’ve misunderstood, my post, and the situation. “Picking on a GN rider” was in reference to a later post by another user. I don’t subscribe to the I in front I go first theory either. In fact, as I mentioned earlier, I constantly check my mirrors as I am fully aware that my (often picked on) GN is not a rapid machine.

Really? So, if I’m on the road I’m free to “buzz” anyone, anytime? Cool!

However, it seems to me the polite thing to do to another rider is not to over-take them at the last minute at high speed. Guess we have different ideas…

    Don't sweat it.

The Suzuki-750-something rider probably has low self-esteem issues.

Did you ever go to sleep with Bo Derek and wake up with Bo Diddley?
