Yeah, have a 300 kit in my garage, in a box. Mine had the block decked for more compression, then exploded the bottom end and ruined the clutch. Was 300cc, 10.5:1-ish comp ratio with a mildly ported head. Was a noticeable increase in torque, but as I said, clutch hated it
Brakes? Nah my whole system has been replaced recently with brand new caliper, master cyl and line, ad it's shit.

My Spada was far, far better through town than the GN, better handling at low speeds and double the power.
The GN600 should be ideal in town, but I reckon ya can't get better than a grunty motard for fun in town

Are there any worthwhile mods for the GN? Might be stuck with mine for a while.

I love my Ginny, but I reckon it's not worth investing too much (or any) money into. They're worth f*ck all and I don't reckon you'd get out of it what you put in. JMO. I'd rather save for something decent then spend money on mods and still have a piece of shit looking bike. Ya know? BUT if I had two bikes and turned the ginny into a hobby, modding it.. maybe the storey would be different..

If I'm honest, sell it. If you cant:
    Flat bars
Sport Demons or BT45s on the rims.

If you want to be a muppet, here's my thread for the latest incarnation of my silly thing http://www.customfighters.com/forums...16#post1217516

Ha ha, that seems to be the general consensus! I have the Sport Demons but no flat bar.

If I get the flat bars that must mean I have one of the baddest, street-legal GN250s out there!

    I feel better already.

As for looking back fondly to your GN...hardly. At least not the riding the bike memories... I had a GN and the best memory I have of it involved a long legged lady who was very friendly...stationary in the garage...

You may find that some riders of bigger bikes just duck past a little bike, on the premise "Get on with it, or get out of the way" and while it's often done rudely...you'll find ways to live with it

That did sound a bit foolhardy, let me clarify. I see a lot of bikes sitting in traffic not lanesplitting when there is sufficient gap and safety to do so. Some people just don't like to split. Coming through Vivian St in Welly everyday a lot of bigger or more expensive bikes pause at some gaps that my GN will easily fit through. I never split dangerously (I think).

    That's what I meant.
