I think the whole point of wanting to do things like this, has nothing to do with practicality, bang for buck, or finances, its about doing something out there, something new, and/or something different.

I personally think its pretty dumb to spend the cost of an R6, on a 250, just to give it the power of an old 400...
But I also think its fucking cool that people do it anyway. i love seeing the time, effort and resources people put into their rides, and seeing the results.

That bike probably had 40HP. Pretty sure an IL4 250 would still kick its ass. Bet the speedo is way out as well.

Actually, that is one of the coolest things I have seen all year from a road bike.... Good for them, it sounded great and went well (I would drop a few teeth from the rear sprocket though..... It's revving pretty hard at an indicated 180).... I will never understand why people keep bagging Hyosungs, these bikes look great, they may lack horsepower, nut they make up for it looks I recon.

People bitch about quality issues but for the money you pay for these machines I believe you get a lot of bike for your buck, they just need a bit more maintenance than some others. I agree they are a very nice looking 250.

I'm all for modifying, but that doesn't make sense to me. Spending that much money to get that little performance gain doesn't add up. But each to their own.

If the 250's are fuel injected, I could turbo it and keep it reliable for about $500 plus the cost of a turbo.

You whack a turbo on $7000 250 and it only does 180kmh... wtf?

    This is way cooler.
    100%+ increase in HP from 24 to 56hp .

where opinion holds more weight than fact.

It's better to not pass and know that you could have than to pass and find out that you can't. Wait for the straight.

You don't need a turbo on a WR to wheelie away from lights.

I guess it's a bit like putting a turbo onto a Civic - why do that when you could just buy a Turbo Falcon/GTR/Evo/WRX?

Or a turbo onto a Hayabusa when you've already got a Hayabusa?

Oh that's right - cause you can!

I'd be pretty happy if I had a sleeper 250 on my L plate.

Yeah yeah ... naaa .... Nice learners bike - and yeah, they have looks ... but an R6 is still a better bet ... the 250s are pretty light for 180 klicks ...

Huh? My original 1990 BMW R100GS Paris Dakar had a couple more horses than that ... if you want on off-roader with grunt ... I sold it last year for seven and a half ... much better bang for the bucks ..
