And not nescessarily, the shop usually makes more if you finance it through them. That's why HD got into such trouble early in the GFC, they're basically a finance house that happens to make bikes.
The Touring screen, panniers, fittings, top box and fenda extender... $2000 worth all for $16995 incl ORC.
TSS bike is $13995 + ORC of $450 and if I want the gear on it like the Colemans bike (which is the deal sweetner here) another $2K bringing it to $16445...though they state it's 1450cc

Plus, the polished rims and black look stunning in my opinion.

Looks like there's no shortage of them. Stunning price outa the box, though, I'd struggle to buy a new dirt bike for that.
Go soothingly on the grease mud, as there lurks the skid demon

I've always been a fan of how Red Baron have good pictures and a lot of details about the botormike they have advertised.

Your name came up late night when some crazy chap tried to entice me onto a Buell Ulysses...
....I asked about panniers for it, his comment about those, were the same as yours about fairings...
Was going to take it for ride this morning but, the rain is finally here so had a cooked breakfast in town and drove home.
It's as tall as the Tiger (which is not a problem) but the issue I have re wind wash, is prominant on the Buell as well, so it's off the list.

I just don't get this sorry. Never bothered me on any naked motorcycle under 140kph.

I hate the racket and buffeting a lot of screens and bodywork make much worse.

FWIW I sold my Buell partly because it's a parts dead end.

Don't get me started on Buell panniers - the worst value POS I ever bought for a motorcycle.

Those effects are hugely dependant bike/rider/helmet combinations, what's a good combination for one guy will be crap for another. Maha orta know that, so I suspect ruling the X out without having riden it isn't the real dealbreaker, eh?

Was partly the reason I sold the CR. Very, very reluctantly. Don't worry me as much with the X, parts are interchangeable with a lot of other stuff, and if it's still a problem I can make it.

They were fucking huge, and still managed to look cool, not an easy design asignment. If the latches had actually lasted for longer than a week they'd have been as downright practical as the rest of the bike. Must admit you didn't want to forget they were there while navigating carparks and the like...

The later ones work faultlessly, they're just a bit lacking in style.

    .
If I was in a martial arts movie it would be called 'Fists of Ham'.

Oh noes - he's got me started. The bags were close to $2k retail, the ironwork was so finicky installing it invented 6 new cuss words and in the end I just left it (the frames) on - ugly as it was as it rusted away.
The latches were made of cheese and the weather seal stayed intact for about 1 opening and closing. Then they filled up with water in a light shower.

Compared to the outstanding functionality of the rest of the bike it was a sad bit. Only other thing was the front mudguard was non-functional too.

I have put some money down a bike today (NEDWN VI) hope to tidy things up at the other end of this week, mine is for sale on two sites but not such an issue if it does not sell quickly. Can get those tyres swpped over in between.
Anne likes buells, me?.....not so much, well not for what I want out of a bike anyway. My brief in a bike now is all about comfort, loaded up with shit or not. The CB I had was partly that.

There were several I was keen on, the kawasaki 1000sx/1050 Tiger and the new Tiger sport (due in NZ about I think?)
The Kawasaki would have been at a stretch to be honest. One other bike popped into view last week that ticked all the boxes and yes, it's the Suzuki.
All personal reasons I went for the Suzuki, which is why you buy a bike right? Those reasons are...

    The write-ups from Hitcher/Jantar
    Long distance rider comfort.
    Laggage capacity.
Its all that I want/need in a bike.
My wife likes it, and will suit her as a pillion if needs be.
Several thousand less than the other options.
    Value for money.
    Looks fanatstic.
