Bwhahahahaha ... such a naive attitude that words on an agreemet is fighting white collar crime ... or that new policies is fighting white collar crime ...

When will we see police using armoured bulldozers and riot guns to get into banks to arrest criminals ???

Sooooo back to the Patches topic....

Is their any other members of clubs in NZ that have patches?, and do you feel you are being caught up in this 1% nonsence?

I for one love the Image of 20 riders cruzin down the road all wearing patches, must feel awesome. and I know that their are plenty of clubs that are not 1%. Surley they must enjoy the feeling of unity, without all the rest of the "Baggage" (BS) that a 1% patch might bring.

N.B. while I was living in England, I used to work with a prospect for the Outlaws. (yes I know they are 1%) he was a good kid, but the way he described his club was almost poetic. He most certianly loved it, thats for sure. One thing he said stuck with me though.

Always wondered what that would feel like.

So now you're a gang? A gang of one, that's interesting.
Read my post properly, it's about gangs, the concept and existance of them. You just had to jump in and blah blah.

You didn't supply any answers to my earlier post by the way. I think you know way less than you pretend to.

So how do you think actions start? It's usually with words and/or writing. Humans don't just do things through telepathy.

I never claimed to be a gang .. and I have never claimed to be a member of any club - I refused when I was offered a patch - the clubs have rules !!! Fuck me .. biker rebels with rules!!! What sort of rebellion is that ...

    I was much more a loner 1%er ...

I did read your post - you characterise the people I used to ride with and the person I once was as scum - as violent and criminal ... who don't deserve to be alive ... and then you wonder why I jump in ???? Well Doh ...

Oh .. I missed that post with those questions. I will provide answrs if you would be kind enough to repeat your questions to me (or refer to a post number?)

Ulysses has a big logo sometimes seen worn on the back - like a patch but it is a logo - no top and bottom rocker . etc etc .. Ulysses would not want to be seen as a 1%er club - because they are not. There are other similar clubs .. but few use any nd of symbol on the back that might be seen as a patch. Because they don't want the 1%er label ...

Yeah .. that's a powerful feeling ... just putting on the leathers and cut off and walking down the street - people step aside ... people wil not step aside for you if you are not wearing the gear .. that's a powerful feeling to provoke that sort of response in people ... and the peope who get that feeling would get no respect at all otherwesie .. that's why it's so compelling .. it's a masisve feeling of power available to those who have no other power ...

(and yeah, don't come back with me with "it's not respect it's fear" .. I know that ...)

Riding in a big group now with no patches is not the same .. not even on harley didntson .. because they've become such a middle class bike ..

But there can still be some feeling of unity in the groups ... it depends ont he group and the make up of the peope in that group ...

yes there are non 1% clubs, but so often they get 'taken down that road'// Good example from UK and a club that STARTED in my youth.. NCC, National Chopper Club..... the originals, were 'outed' in the mid 80's,, and a new breed of club 'officers' stepped in.... They decided that the NCC club logo was going to be a 'back patch' and started to lay down rules/'laws' as to bike type, what THEY considered a 'Chop/Custom, as acceptable to be a 'club member'..... A lot of the 'originals' left.
From a decent open minded club, a change of club officers converted it to a wannabe, 'MATT BLACK n WELL 'ARD' club....FFS
I did and suppose still do, belong to a club from the UK, it was a 'drinking/social/bike/rock n roll club' and we had/have a side patch.. yet the amount of people who would try to 'talk it up' we were a bike gang.... at one point it got the club 'scrutinized' by one of the well known Outlaw clubs in London, not exactly what the club was ever intended to be.

Yeah, that's right, you recently wrote about being like Pan the anarchic wild child. However, that's not what Pan represents at all. Also, you wrote you like posting on here and winding people up for your own amusement etc. So what should we believe about you?

Fuck all mate - fuck all ... it's the interdweb after all ...

I'm just a fucked up human being - like the rest of the people here ...

It's true I ride bikes, it's true I currently own Bandits .. It's true that I once was a bad boy and it is true that I work in tertiary education ... and live in the Eastern Bay of Plenty - It's also true that I'm male and I'm married ...

The rest? what I tell you depends on how I might want you to react ... and I'll never tell you that ..

Yep, a great feeling - and no need to be part of a gang to do so.

I can understand the sense of power from belonging to a group that is generalised by the public as something to fear.
When I first left home and went flatting I found myself in a house of skin heads.
Nice guys, still friends with some of them now... but make no mistake, they were skin heads.
Being young and wanting to belong I cut my hair short (really short) and the difference to how I was percieved when walking down tthe street was incredible.
It was powerful stuff... I kept my hair short for nearly 8 years... not anymore...

Is it really anything more than boys playing tough?

    I dont think so.

Who, in their right mind, gets a kick out of making people fear them?
