I wasn't too impressed with his suggestion to take old SH22 home though - bumpy, wet, gravelly, goats - not the best for getting to grips with a new steed. After Hayden backed off the rear suspension it was much better though.

Congrats on the bike Deano. It would appear you had the same intro I did with my CBR. I picked it up from Taupo in the pissing rain and made a dumb choice of going back via SH22, exactly the same experience as you - suspension hard as rocks and it was the first thing I backed off when I got it home - now its mint. I had a big third gear power slide in the wet which sux on a new bike you are already a little nervous on. I was so tense after going through there I was physically buggered by the time I got to Pukekohe. Thankfully I was with Firefight who, as usual was most understanding and we stopped for a coffee.

I have now done over 2000km of open road riding (inc. 2 up) & like you I am loving it.

Good on ya, we'll have to catch up sometime and compare notes - already the experiences are reading the same.

I dunno about best, but I usually use "Kumcleen" paintbrush cleaner (basically xylene+toluene), but you could also try petrol, then follow up with meths (to get the last remnants of petrol+gloop off).
I'd imagine the Blade is a real precision weapon to ride, if it's anything like the '05 CBR600RR I rode. That would turn corners as soon as you thought about it, with seemingly no effort at all, and the brakes were absolutely brilliant.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

    Cool, all jealous like.

    Orange wheels, no doubt.

Steal the missus hairdryer & peel those ghey labels. Finish any residue with that orange clean label remover, the clear container with the blue label & an orange on it. By far the best label residue remover, M10 etc sell it.

Nice one deano, we were all at the Autobarn sunday morning when you and Hayden cruised by, should've stopped in, oh well, well catch you at manfeild on the 4th gonna be awesome.
22 grows on ya after a while. You and hayden should've taken the looonnng way home through the coro out to tauranga, but you two were prolly still trying to come to grips with waking up by taupo.
Hope you ride back was sweet man, catch in couple of weeks.

Yeah, pretty tired after a long weekend.

22 reminded me a bit of Paekakariki. Daunting at first but once you know it well it's ok.

I one/only 22 was in the dark on my F4 (which had a piss poor headlight) after having ridden from Taupo via the coromandel loop. I didn't enjoy it much to be honest. That had more to do with me being a bit stuffed. Must do it fresh one day.
