    I finally saw one.

Was at the Boulevard Rally a few weeks back and ended up following a 109 with a car tyre rear, followed him on some windy's and through Rotorua.

Story goes, he was touring Australia and blew his Metzeller at 8000km's in Broome, bike shop said it would take 2 weeks to get a replacement, he went to car shop and fitted a 255 wide tyre and finished his tour. He's up to 30,000 km's on the tyre and reckons it has 20,000 more to go. Edges have rounded as you'd expect and he runs it at 14 PSI!!!

After following & watching him for a bit, the tyre flexes amazingly and keeps a large patch of rubber on the road at all times. Says he can still grind his pegs in the wet and it's never let go. No issues with WOF or Insurance.

Now the next Dark Side question is, who runs a MC specific rear tyre on the front?
