    Been looking

Been thinking of adding a road bike to the herd..
    something around 600/650...
    The 4 I'm looking at are Yamaha XJ6 / Suzuki Gladius / Honda NC700S / Kawasaki ER6..
It WILL be one of those 4 if I go road..
Yamaha is my first choice.. but the Suzuki has the motor I would like the Vee twin where the others
are parallel twins... Honda,s prob my last choice.. no idea why just don't like it as much as the others..
    If I narrowed it down to 2..Yamaha XJ6 & Kawasaki ER6
prise diffrents is $4000 between them..
    Suzuki $13,895
    Yamaha $13,599
    Honda $11,995
    Kawasaki $9995

So what are yer thoughts on the diffrent brands/models / prise range between them..

They are all very different bikes. You should ride each before deciding. I like the Yamaha but the Gladius offers great torque for in town and apparently from reports is very easy to ride.

Quite likely as it was specifically designed for it. Hasn't been a rocketing success though, so maybe practical bikes are not so much what the punters want?

In the real world it's torque that counts. Rowing a bike along with the gear lever is fun for a short while but gets tiring if you're not racing. The Honda has great torque but some reports have criticised the suspension.

Really no alternative to trying them out as we've all got our own likes and dislikes.

Thats what I'm saying... At 46hp it's going to have alot of torque.. easy , lazy bike to ride..
    Yamaha 78hp
    Kawasaki 70hp
Suzuki 64hp .. prob best of both worlds with the vee twin..
    Honda 46hp

I have an er6-f and thw wife has a gladius, buttdyno says theres bugger all in it engine wise between the two. The suzuki shifts a little more smoothly and its a bit more difficult to lock up the rear wheel, the seat on the er6 is abit of a killer after 4 hours but I havent donea 4 hour stint on the gladius to compare.
I wouldn't pay the extra $4k for the Gladius over the er6, cant comment on the other 2

I think the nc hondas have been more successful overseas where there's more of a price advantage.

FWIW there's a special on the honda website at the moment $11,995 including on road costs, 6 months registration and 12 months insurance.

I think you should be buying a street triple instead, has the excellent torque and seat position for around town but can get up and go when you need it to.
Oh look, I have one for sale!

Seriously though, I would sit on the 4 on your shortlist and decide based on which is most suited to your size and preferred ride position. I have to say though that in terms of convenience the Honda's storage space would make it a winner hands down. FWIW I think the kawasaki looks nicer than the rest, and has decent pillion space too.
