I'm pretty happy with the RePlay XD. It doesn't seem to give a fuck about which class of card it uses and needs no protective case.

    Depends on the application somewhat.

For road (and dirt road) helmet mount removes most of the sensation of leaning and cornering speed - and is very difficult to hear a standard exhaust.
I only use helmet if there is nowhere else suitable - or really rough off road.

I made my own chest mount. You couldn't use it on the track though and it wouldn't be the best thing to land on. But it gives a better record than the melon.

The handlebar kit isn't that expensive either. It give options like the footpegs and frame on some bikes too.

The protective case is the biggest advantage. Replacement outer lenses are $20. I've wrecked two so far.

RePlay has a protective lens cover in front of the glass (real) lens. 6 cost $18.00 I think.

But then I don't go off road. Well, not on purpose anyway...

I've been using a gopro since they first came out..early adopter on this one I guess you'd call me. Yes it is true they fog up, they get hot inside the case. Gopro claim they designed a built in warmer for the battery (good on yah if you believe that one). It is true they are fussy with cards, even of the same brand, hang onto the one that works for you. Chest mounts are good but you do have to be mindful of the dreaded clicker noise, gopro have a shock plug that works to muffle it sometimes. Chestcam footage also makes you a bit 'seasick' watching it sometimes so vary your footage with helmet and other angles too. I'd feel naked trailbiking without one now. Regardless of what brand it is I'd like to give a goggle mounted cam a go. True point of view.

Hit buy now on a Contour today so will see how it works out. Liked the goggle mount. Price was right.

Goggle mount is the only way to go as all the others leave you with a sea sick feeling or have far to much movement.

My Contour HD is brilliant. Very easy to use. Gives a great picture. Well worth the $240 I paid for it.

Only thing I cant work out so far is how to edit the movies.

Copy to computer, open with editing software, save your work and upload to where ever you want.

I think the CHD uses H.246 codec on a MP4 so you will need something that can read it.

If you want to pay get Cyberlink Powerdirector (it was only $49 download) as it has been the best for years.
If you want free software I wouldn't know but I'm sure someone will.

Windows live movie maker is nice and easy to use, and free. The functionality is pretty basic, but does the job.
