But it's ok for their picture/face to be all over the internet? all it needs is for someone to ID tag them on facebook and well, it's logic that needs attention.

In the article copy it makes note that anonymous photos are acceptable. I guess they aren't on facebook. (I didn't check the date - was it even pre fb?)
The newspaper makes extensive disclaimers regarding identity too.
The patched members and Harley clubs are strong on nicknames. It's part of their trip.
To that end what's more interesting to me is if it could happen in this hemisphere. The poor old Ulysses club members occasionally get grief for wearing their big patches from the Outlaws - and their territory code.
White knights patched up might draw the ire of the dark side too. The Americans are more 'mainstream' with patches for 'social' clubs.

I looked exactly like those guys (without the patch), lived a pretty full-on biker lifestyle (lots of riding with a group of scary looking blokes on Choppers anyway) - while I also ran a YMCA, received a community service commendation and won a medal for bravery.

If they are "dealing to" nutters, they are unlikely to introduce themselves.
To a small traumatised child however, a hairy monster biker saying "Hi I'm Colin", would probably go a long way to make them feel safer.
