It won't have done that much. There are plenty of errors like this on trademe all the time and the reason is that people either make a mistake when they enter the number, or, and HEAPS of utter n00bs do this, they add the last number from the odometer (the kilometer count), look at the resulting number and then go, "duh that would be 200,000kms, but I only remember doing to 20,000kms."

Ran into this HEAPS when I was looking for a replacement for my TRX, and don;t take this the wrong way please, it was because the wife or girlfriend had done the listing, and no one had ever taken the time to explain how the odometer works, and that you don't quote the last digit. I found a GSX750F that had done 666,000 kms, a CBR600F that had done 850,000, and a GS750E (1984) that had done 112kms. Um no it hadn't I said, it's done 100,012.2kms and got the, "Are you calling me stupid?" response, and I said, "no, but now that you bring it up....".

So yeah, it'llbe a miostake, sure of it.

Sometimes it's real. There's a guy I know in the US, who like SpankMe only rides bikes. His VFR was making funny (i.e., potentially terminal) noises recently, so he got rid of it - gave it to a friend. It had 260,000 kms on it, which sounds a lot, but was low compared to the other VFRs he'd owned, and low compared to a guy in the UK who got 850,000 MILES from two VFRs, one of which was up to something like 485,000 miles before it died.

But yeah, there's a lot of stupid stuff posted on TradeMe, like people who sell a bike and don't even know how to spell Kawasaki or Suzuki. If it's that hard, why not go and look at what it says on the tank? Or look at other listings?
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

lol yeah there is another FXR on TradeMe listed as "suzuke fxr" lmao

I think I can get a good price for Sam's FXR. It's a 2002, with only 7000k's on the clock. Perfect condition.

The bike shops are selling them for about $2995. And the listings on TradeMe are older with more k's on the clock and average price would be around $2000.

I'm hoping to get about $2400 for Sam's

I spend my days entering data into the LTNZ WoF web site,a vehicle with ALL the correct information is a rarity - just have one here now...the make and model are totaly different! all other information correct, like, how do you register a car with the wrong MAKE!

My last car was a Cordia GSR turbo, however it stated on the ownership that it was the unturboed GSL model. I told my insurance company who did not care and they gave me cheaper insurance. I told the LTSA and they told me not to worry about it...

It seems to be really hard to get it changed, too. Some time back, one of our cars had the wrong colour, model, or summat, and I filled out the "change of details" panel nearly every time I registered it, but it stayed the same.

My bike is registered as "Honda VFR". That's it. I should buy a 750 and a 400, then I could use one plate and rego for the three of them.

All the information was entered by Post Office workers, they don't care or know what make, model, whether the chassis number is chassis number, engine number or the owners telephone number, they just crunched numbers.Until the correct data is added by the people at the coal face with the vehicle on site the database is meaningless.

I'll get back to you (should I remember this post), and say how many km my FXR got up to.
90% of the time spent writing this post was spent thinking of something witty to say. It may have been wasted.
