    That's a cool bike!

Do Darmahs have oil filters (Before that, they didn't, right?) ? What are they like to maintain?

yes it has a small filter beneith the front cyl carby, they are a bike that like to be tinkered with all the time, had the motor and box done twice at great cost $$$$$$, second time i put 8 new V2 gears in it as the the o/e ones where lossing there hardining, but if you change the oil reg, and warm them up to get that SAE 50 oil warm your fine.

Way back in my first year at Uni in ChCh one guy had an old 450 bevel drive but he only came out for one ride with us and the shame is I do not have any photos of it to share. Then he left as a drop out never to be seen by me again.
    Cheers

1982 SD900 I owned it for 6 years (I think) and did around 50,000km on it including the Southern Cross and two Rusty Nuts 1000 milers

In that time it had a crank done (V2 one shit itself with 11,000km on it) a little end bush and gearbox output shaft bearing

I put the SS fairing on as I got tired of having a sore neck trying to keep up with maniacs on the Ducati club rides

The shot loading it onto a boat is on Stewart Island after the Rakuria Sunset Rally in 1994

If I could afford it I'd have another one tomorrow although the one I really lust after is a MHR1000
