    A Sad Day

Welll....I went to visit my bike today.....it has all been repaired and I must say is looking better than the day I bought it.

Yamaha (well AMI) kindly put all new 2003 plastic on the bike from Headlight to Tail Light (something to do with there being no Colour Codes and therefore paint matching a bitch) - and with that and the engine cover being the only damage I am surprised it took that long - but hey it was Xmas.

I was sorely tempted to once again disregard my doctors orders and vanish out the showroom door in a plume of exhaust fumes, noise and tyre smoke......but the thought of the reigned me in

The bike looks like sex.....and it pisses me off.....but alas it is now for sale....

Hopefully the new owner loves it as much as I - and if still in Wellington will allow me to visitation rights now and then.

I KNOW - shit loads - it is wicked. But problem is - with my penchant for pursuits it will soon be eaten up by something no less expensive nor dangerous. Trail Biking seems to be the one. Ever since I got the bike my mate down in Wellington has been trying to convince me as to the merits of stump thumpers.......and with that I go out for me first ever proper ride shortly.

The small fact the MNZ won't give me a race license without medical clearance - same issue as the road

Since when do you need medical clearance to ride after an injury?
There are people with limbs missing that legally can ride.

How do MNZ know about your accident?, I know a few guys who got busted up off track and were racing again without any type of clearance.

The only people who normally have to get a clearance are those that injure themselves while racing, although in saying that probably a good idea after your injuries.

I've explained all this. MNZ can't give me license as I can't produce full MB license

You have better get another bike if you want to keep your plate Wk1d.

dayum, you must be pretty knocked up man. that's not good at all. I obviously haven't been reading the back posts. Maybe You were best to quit while You were ahead, your call. Years ago, I told the missus (from the comfort of my hospital bed) that I was giving it away... Yeah right, that was in 1997, now I'm dreaming about zx10R's & Ducatis lol.

No I came off pretty well except for the fact I landed on the shoulder that I had had surgery on 4 weeks earlier - which has put back my recovery significantly.......Now it has absolutely no strength at all. Meh - should have listened to the quack - but the allure of the bike was too great.....c'est la vie. For those who are genuinely interested in why had my license suspended - pm me - as I can't be arsed with the response on here.

It was a wake up call anyway....but seeing the bike again made me want to hop on it and ride off again - shit. The bike looks mint.....bugger.....

Anywho - time to try a trailie - yes I know the risks are the same if not greater - but hey......it is in my blood
