    Stolen: KTM 625 SXC Christchurch

    Stolen: KTM 625 SXC Christchurch

A guy was testing it and took off up the street. Please keep an eye out. Thanks Hayden

Rego is A7FFH. Is a 2004. If you see a 625 SXC it is quite likely it is this bike as they are very rare here.

    A couple of features that are hard to change are;

The swing arm has been filled for a lowering link by the shock spring but the is original fitted.
The emissons control stuff has been removed so a short section of black hose plugged with a bolt is visible on the right side of engine.

    • Britannia Composites Lynx Adventure fairing with Hella lights and headlight protectors
    • KTM 18 litre tank
    • KTM Comfort seat
    • Gold Heat sheld over the exhuast with the rear section broken off.
    • Pillion pegs
    • 'Safe case' panniers held on with ski boot clips
    • 0.3 kg fire extinguisher
    • SW Motec quick release removable pannier racks to suit Givi panniers
    • The carrier rack on the rear has extra flat bar welded to it
    • Hella LED Daytime running lights
    • Heated grips
    • Ctek power outlet and battery monitor.
    • Trail Tech Vapour speedo/dash
    • Twin radiator fan kit
    • KTM bash plate
    • Conti TKC80 tyres front and rear

Will post up serial numbers soon.

shite.. mates vtr firestorm got piched the other day...

something fishy going on in chch when people start stealing big CC machines...

normally somebody with the skill and the ponies to ride big machines tend to have a bike...

most only 250cc and scooter are stolen..

but yeah i know of 4 in chch in the last week.

St Albans although the bike was taken from Bromley. I fear its been abused and dumped because not sure what else they would do with it apart from export it.

Thats crap , sorry to hear.

Trevor Pierce Yamaha had a WR450 flogged a couple of weeks back, nicked early one morning.

Will keep an eye out for ALL the bikes flogged recently, and will help spread the word.

Seeing as bike a few bikes have disappeared of late this is what happened to mine so you can take what you like from it.

Guy contacted me via number on trademe about 2pm by phone.

At about 3.30 Gave him address and agreed to meet there (not my house) and got strong impression that he had contacted other sellers as had to confirm which one I was.

Meet at 5pm and he was on time and arrived on foot. Said that his friends house was just over there (que vague gesture up the street toward houses).

Talk for about 15 min and he asks a some things about the bike.

'Electric start and kick? Start alright from cold?'

I start the bike and he gets on.

Talk about temp gauge needing reset to go to zero and gearbox whilst he is on it.

Says 'see you soon' and takes off out of the drive and down the street and round the corner.

I'm left staring blankly at the space previously occupied by my bike thinking that hes got no helmet on so can't be going too far?

Jog the short distance to corner to look and ring him with unsurpisingly no answer.

Call cops and am told to text him and call back in 10min (checked with supervisor).

Call back and told to give him another half hour (again checked with supervisor).

Drive around looking for any sign and call cops again when they take it as stolen about 1 hour after nicked.

I dont think the cops are going to investigate as never heard anything from them apart for the reciept of complaint letter mailed out. Waiting to hear from insurance at the moment but will still be a substantial loss ( I think about 15-20% down on sale ). The guy was a NZ european and around early 20's and 5 10'.
