Bridgestone Battlax T30 - Free tyre giveaway

    Hello All,

As you may know, we are the NZ distributor for Bridgestone motorcycle tyres. Late next month we have a new product being launched - the Battlax T30 sport touring tyre.

The T30 has been designed to be a premium grip touring tyre in Bridgestones Battlax radial range. Bridgestone are boasting improved dry and wet grip by using a new compound in the front tyre and improving again on their unique Nano Pro-Tech technology, creating the best possible grip across varying temperature and weather conditions. With this improvement of grip, Bridgestone are suggesting that the wear life should be similar to BT023, meaning touring and longer distance riders get significantly enhanced feel and grip for close to the same mileage. Bridgestone's own tagline for the T30 is "Engineered for smooth handling, maximum performance and rider comfort".

What we want to know is how all this applies to NZ conditions, and we want Kiwibiker forums to help us find out! You may have seen mid last year we ran a similar competition where two sports riders were given a set of S20's to test and report back on. Those riders were Drew and Onearmedbandit, who received a free set of Bridgestone Battlax S20 Sport tyres and in return wrote us honest reviews on the tyres.

What we are offering here is exactly the same for two touring riders. A set of free T30's to two respected, professional and objective KB members, who can provide us through this forum with objective and honest reviews of the tyres. With a bit of luck they will be as well received as the S20's were!

    - We will be accepting nominations from now until Friday the 22nd of February - any KB member gets to vote for two other members to take part in this review (although not themselves).

    - 1 nomination must be from the North Island, 1 from the South Island

    - The product is a premium touring tyre (similar to Michelin Pilot Road 2/3, Pirelli Angel, Bridgestone BT023) so the nominees must have bikes appropriate to this type of tyre

    - the nominated riders agree to provide honest and objective reviews of the tyres on KB, on at monthly intervals

    - the nominated riders agree to have their image and review extracts potentially used in advertising

Please let us know if anyone has other questions!?

Looking forward to receiving nominations and getting first hand feedback on the new T30! Let the voting commence...

...why? (other than the fact you lot love me....aye?...well nodrog does!!)

Bike, 96 VFR750(sport tourer) "so the nominees must have bikes appropriate to this type of tyre"
Last set of tyres-Michelin Pilot Road "(similar to Michelin Pilot Road 2/3, Pirelli Angel, Bridgestone BT023)"
And Im just about to do a wee tour down south (mates wedding & fishing) "What we are offering here is exactly the same for two touring riders."

"A set of free T30's to two respected, professional and objective KB members" ....yeah...ok, that one may be stretch, but i can make an effort! lol (for science!...and tyres!!)

But as a guy who has two kids, a retarded dog and more bills than a duck farm...I would love to test the hell out of these with out actually paying for the pleasure.(Im not cheap!...I just happen to be always broke!)

Since I don't have a suitable touring bike my vote is up for purchase/personal favours.

I'd like to nominate myself.. but I have a perfectly good pair of PR3's on my ZRX1100..

It would put me in a position to give a good comparitive review though..

otherwise, I nominate nzspokes, he is a good guy, knows his stuff and has a bandit to throw them on.

    Second that vote for NZspokes.

Great guy, always willing to help out other people, knows how to chuck his bandit around and spends a shitload of time on it.

It would take at least a "free" set to ever get me back on a set of Bridgestone sports touring tyres, after entirely suboptimal experiences on the egregious 020 and the marginally better 021.

The best fate for both of those would be on a bonfire.

Battlaxes have been expunged from my tyre procurement radar. Dealers who promote these are wasting their time with me.

I think Blackbird is the man to give you a decent, objective report, that will be disseminated across a broad base of potential users in your target market. Geoff IAM qualified, writes brilliant reviews and has lots of time and motivation.

He's my Nth Island pick. He lives on the Coromandel loop too.

My Sth Is pick is MyGSXF - Jen is capable of stringing a sentence together and is also a riding instructor.
