It seems as though the busa rider was backing off a bit on the banking.

Hahahaha, who cares whether the Busa or the 14 are the fastest?? Firstly a GPS speedo will decide the true winner, but in the end I reckon anyone obsessed with this question simply doesn't have the balls or the money to pin either of these bikes to the throttle stop in top gear...not that we'd have a place to do this in NZ anyway...

Both of these bikes are more like a V8 car anywayz, lots of grunt but low on true sport, that's where the litre bikes come into it...

Yep, both are hornbag bikes with more poke than a catholic school girl.

Is it just me or is the Kawaka more stable at that speed? Busa looks to move about a bit.

Our old ZX14 certainly didn't have too much problems keeping up where it mattered, granted with more rider input than required on a wee litre bike. Criiiky...even my Diavel has no issues keeping up in the twisties

I have found both the Suzi and Kwaka's mint to ride but we chose the ZX14 due to its lower centre of gravity...it felt lighter to ride.
Both of them are fast as fuck in a straight line, but who really cares?

Yeah, the 14 was simply rock solid but I felt the Busa may have needed the rear settings adjusted better. It was moving a bit on the banking as the load came on, requiring the rider to back off a bit.

With this kind of bike, I guess preference is down to style and feel as they are both at the top of the tree. For me it's the Busa on style but I recognise the Kawa may be easier to ride and more comfortable going by comments of those who have ridden both.

Busa owners are pretty dedicated, though. I think the Busa has the cachet, being the original and the first and being the only one for so long it has a special place in history.

The ZX14 wins the battle when it comes to asthetics, the Busa is butt ugly.

    PS: Spokes, whats a Kawaka?

Once the necessary ground clearance modification has been performed and ideally with narrow profile boots?

Ed, the Busa wasn't the first and hasn't been the only one at all. It has been part of a progression starting with the ZZR1100, then the Blackbird, Gen1 Busa, ZX12-R, the ZX14, Gen2 Busa and finally the ZX14-R.

To someone new to bikes they both seem a little pointless.
That said, so does a Harley, and yet some people still love them.

To someone who's been riding a while 50cc shitheap scooters could seem a little pointless too. That said, it's not what you've got - it's what you do with it that counts.

Bikes are less about logic and practicality, more about desire and emotion. Sure you can question the logic of a bike that can do 160km/h in first gear for the road but that is irrelevant to the feeling you get when you are riding the bike of your dreams and desires.

It is that intangible, that appeal to the soul, that joy and pleasure that is so hard to define and quantify. Only a biker can understand. That is also why "practical" bikes don't sell in large numbers.

hahahaha I forgot my account still says that! Fair enough, I guess it's what I always say to others that question my choice in transport modes; "If you have to ask, you wouldn't understand".
