The battle continues! Busa v ZX14

I see on face ache, a picture taken over the seat cowl on the 'busa of some people. Usual Suzuki quality finish, the gap between cowl and rear fairing is less than consistent.

It doesn't bother me, I have always been a 'function over form' kinda person. But I notice it now, when I never did.

I was in New Plymouth motorcycles on Saturday looking for a new helmet. I decided to sit on a few bikes whilst I was there. One of which is a shiny black hayabusa. Very nice! It goes on special in a few weeks apparently. It would have been nice to sit on the ZX 14 R alongside it.

We first saw the tri oval pipes on the Suzuki range in '05. Can't think of a Kawasaki that sports anything similar. The Concourse thingie's pipes look nothing like it.

I have always thought the 'busa was god awful to look at, but I don't remember ever hearing someone say they didn't like it to ride. Might have, but it would be a small portion of those who have had a hoon on one.

The ZX14 is as hideous as sin also though, so they are at least still on a level playing field.

I just watched a video of both bikes on what was said to be Yatabe Proving Ground showing onboard acceleration and top speeds.

Apart from the absolutely insane acceleration where the speedo needles wound far too fast around he dial to 300km/h, both bikes sat at redline of 11,000rpm and held it there.

I was watching on my iPhone so too small to read speed but I can recall a thread some time ago where we worked out the gearing on a Busa and it was doing 325km/h at redline.

Anyone know the gearing on both current bikes as to their top speeds at redline?

Think bit more to than gearing as wind can slow the bike too and tire deformation too

Even clutch slipage am no expert guess fast is fast love the look both bikes

I pick zx 1400 cause sounds amazing with those extra 50 horses hehe

ive talked guy here thats got white susuki hybusa one seen when doing my vol driving job at hospital

yes id agree well all that gear makes bikes look garish doesint it but guess rose cloured glasses

thing , as build and tech and more just how well work when shoudint as there not light either.

mind doubt i ever do 200kph let alone 280 plus and extra weight keep them stable

Everybody I know who has been on one has loved it.
I did, but it gave me the screaming shits at how easy it was to go jail-fast. Far too much power for a dick like myself
