    Cool Road trip

    Hey there everyone,
My friends and I will be in Auckland for a 2 weeks. The first week will a business meeting long hours mostly. We're from Scotland and when we're done with work, we just want to get some bikes and hit the road and get to see New Zealand. We're booking accommodation using http://www.trivago.co.nz and we're hoping you guys could give us ideas on where to go what to see and all that kind of stuff. thanks

One week might be enough to find your way out of Auckland. Probably not enough to see all New Zealand though. Look at touring the North Island only if you have to fly out from Auckland.

    welcome to NZ & KB,
it depends on where you want to go lots of nice roads in the north, even better on the main land if you're down our way plenty of room here

a good ride would be head south, do the forgotten HW, New Plymouth, coastal HW to Welly, over the ferry, Queen Charlotte drive, Nelson, Takaka Hill & back, down to Murchison, just past Murchison turn onto the Buller gorge then all the way down the coast over to Wanaka, then over Cardrona range to Queenstown then onto 5 rivers down through Te Anau, Manapouri carry on down the coast around to Bluff, then back up the Catlin's, & when you get to Belcutha you have a choice of going up SHW1 or going back over to Central Otago & up the middle to CHCH then heading north go inland come out just south of Kaikoura up the cost to ferry then over the Rimataka's, then up through the Hawkes Bay & if ya have time up around East Coast, Coromandel & back to Orks or Taupo road if ya running short of time
so where ever you go have a great & lotsa fun

That takes up three days. What will they do for the rest of the week?
