got a mate that rode down from palmy to chch in to days on one and said it was sweet as,the bike is not perfect for it but it done the job and well ....:-)
I ride once every two weeks from ChCh to Blenheim, thats 4 1/2 hrs each way or 341km. not a worry , on a 250 Keeway!
Have done 8 return trips this year , feel as fresh as when I get to the end of the ride as when I start. your 2fiddy Hosung will do it not worries
To be old and wise, first you must be young and stupid.
Just pace yourself and take breaks if you even begin to think you might need one
Just think of it as two 1 hour rides in a row. Not a big deal
the bike will do it fine too
Just make sure that you stop the bike and get off for a bit of a walk around every 2 - 3 hours. If you keep on riding for more than 3 hours or so without stopping then your engine will cut out, the bike will grind to a halt and it will not start again until you have that walk around.
Oh, while having that walk around, put some more fuel in the tank, and the bike will start up and keep going for another 3 hours or so.
Time to ride
My friend used to regularly ride from Auckland to the Coromandel on a GT250. No issues whatsoever.
Never in the field of human conflict has so much been owed to so few by so many cheese eating surrender monkeys.
(Winston Churchill on the French.)
Blightybiker rode 4 days straight around the north island on her Hyosung GT250. Apparently the seat is a bit hard but gas stops were a good enough stretch. That was about 1600km btw.
FFS, you can ride anything anywhere,![]()

Always it's not about the bike that's capable. It's the rider.
If you can make it on Kiwibiker you can make it anywhere.
