Get hold of the WOF guidelines. The requirements are that they must be visible from certain angles. Other than that, you shouldn't get pinged for them not being DOT approved, unless you want to get a new VIN.

The position and brightness is what the important thing is with indicators. Mine are marginal but just pass (I have leds running up the subframe of my daytona) and what they told me is that you have to be able to see the right signal from the left hand side and vice versa as well as just to the side of them at slight angles.

Those there should be good but may come into strife because they're on the pegs. Would be useless if someone was on them.

But agree, either get the guidelines or do what I did and whack them on and take it to a wof place and ask them. I'm meaning a bike shop since they generally have more brains when it comes to bikes :-)

    Some doubt i's say.

Plus they look a bit ..... tacked on. There are some very nicely styled small (and fully legal) LED turn signals out there.

    +1

If they don't cost too much then that's probably easier than reading the guidelines then having an argument on KB about your interpretation of them.

They look like they'd be pretty well obscured with a pillion on though.

You will be sweet. I drilled some holes in my muffler covers and glued some 5mm LEDs in. They have no prob getting a wof. Except as said above, if the pillion can obscure them.
