Isn't that an ad for the congestion killing power of PTWs. Imagine if all those scooter riders were driving cars ...

Still remember my last trip to Malaysia. Walking down the road drinking a bottle of Gin. Got to the pub, needed to get rid of the last 1/4 of the bottle. Right out side the front of the Bar is a guy with a scooter putting on a brand new set of racing decals on it. I hand him the bottle and his eyes just light up like its christmas. No doubt that the scooter got dropped that night, good fucken times over there.

Been there, done that... It's way less frustrating and dangerous than Auckland traffic - people seem to actually pay attention to what's going on.

They seem fine with the chaos. Not a great place for foreigners to have a go

Taipei is worse. (Relatively) better ordered, but has more scooters and cars travelling faster.

Looks like Vietnam! My wife and I did a scooter tour over there a few years ago, over around 3 weeks. It was madness, but had such a great time. We went on the main highway, two up on a 150cc Honda wave. In the the rain. Yeah that was quite an experience, and it's true that trucks and buses give way to no-one. I'd recommend it to anyone brave! We started the trip with a puncture right on the edge of town, but no problem. 100m down the road was a workshop, $3 and a smile got us a new tube and we were on our way. Riding through hundreds of bikes was surprisingly easy, everyone is slow and it's a pack mentality. Just go with the flow.

Thailand was a bit easier on a CB400. The maintenance on those bikes didn't really inspire me though

Saw a tourist covered in bandages walking the streets, it would quite easy to come off if you get carried away. A lot of diesel on the roads.
