    Others 16 / 111

    Total ---- 576 / 4239

June resulted in an increase of 35% on June 04 but down 23% on last month. The 'moped' classification was responsible for the increase in June 05 (up 149% on last month and 78% YTD) however 'real' motorcylce sales were down 6% for the month, still up 17% YTD.

On an individual basis Suzuki's GN250 was #1 with 24 units, GSXR1000K5 with 12 units, HD's Dyna range followed with 9, BMW's F650 and R1200, HD's Softail range and Suzuki's SJ125 were all tied in in 4th on 8 units.

The Nth Island was up 46% over the same month last year, the Sth Island up 17%.

Change of ownerships were up 11% last month over June 04.

So, Suzuki is the preferred motorcycle brand in NZ (based on new sales figures.) You could say the GN250 is the most popular learner level motorcycle, and the GSXR1000K5 is the #1 sportsbike in NZ.

Very interesting. I guess 'Factory Bulit' means custom bikes, but what about 'Mini' and 'motorcycle'? I'm kinda confused. They're not brands are they?

When you consider that Piaggio, PGO, CMG & Vespa are all scooters as well, I think, they are outselling even Suzuki!

You do see a lot of scooters on the roads these day, almost more than 'real' bikes.

are these stats "registered" bikes? (ie. not farm or off road). Given any bike under 60cc, regardless of brand falls under "Moped", what makes up Suzuki's 139 sales in the month (as the top 3 Suzuki models only account for 44 of the 139)???
... or are quads, moto-X included as well
...and I don't wanna die, just want to ride my motorcy...cle (Arlo Guthrie)

Yes they are registered bikes. What makes up the rest of Suzukis figures? GSXR600 & 750, GSXF range, FXR, cruisers, all sorts I'm sure.
