    Alpine tumble. Alone.

    Lucky bloke.

I reckon he was using a trampers GPS. Shame we did not see the last 10 mtrs to tarmac. After all that would you have had a crack at it?

Lucky alright, extremely so. I think he should of moved a few boulders and given himself a bit more room. Especially on a bike that size, with that much gear. But, OH the adventure.

Yep, I would of got it on the road somehow.

That's what I thought, too. Put myself in a pickle a few times & the feeling of can I, can't I, will it, won't it, is still strong when I think back. Nothing like being forced to face your fear. Not that I would go looking for it.

I do, I love the challenge of it. I quite often take my bike and head for the mountains alone. I always tell my wife the general area I will be in and roughly when I will be back. But I also tell her that if I dont come back, then I have gone with a smile on my face. Same goes with tramping, I would rather be alone most of the time, and dont like using popular tracks and areas. So I have to accept total responsability if I fuck up. Which I do from time to time.

Looks like a pretty normal days riding to me.

The buzz you get when things get shitty and you come out ok (ish) is a good one.

Yep, It is a grand feeling. I got caught on a costal bluff once on the west coast while following an old pack track.Took me 2 days to get my bike out of there, and I loved every minute of it, NOW.

Looked pretty mild from here, the faster you go the easier it is.

Thats what I was thinking when he was freewheeling down that last bit, with all the bleeping. Kept saying to myself, start the bloody thing.

Yup, never ever turn your engine off. some do, but it gives me the heeby jeebies.

Easy to say just go for it, but with a fully laden adv bike, once they start tipping over there isn't a hell of a lot you can do about it most of the time.

Agreed, but it is nice to be able to blip the throttle to help pull it where you want it every now and then.
