Cool stuff Struan, so did any of the group do the Porika? But more importantly did anyone find my sidecover and, if so who do I send the prize to.
Sorry Nigel, it was a bit wet & everyone chickened out. We need everything in our favour to get the old cars down.
Hope to do it as a loop with Rainbow, next trip.

    Awesome

excellent stuff Struan - instead of 'My Senior Moment' - I reckon you could have aptly named this thread "I succumbed to temptation - and look what fun I'm having!"

Sorry I hadn't been following your exploits more closely as I spend most time over on ADV

Like Jeff C - I'm envious - long may you and your Singer/s run! Cheers Stephen O

    Look what I found

A chap asked me for advice on what to do with some old cars & stuff that came with a section & building he had purchased. You can imagine my reaction first time I opened the door & just knew we had to film the contents before they were messed with. It's a privilege to be involved with this:

obviously there's some good 'sections' (or blocks) to be had with all those goodies lurking inside, if you're lucky - I imagine you must've thought you'd died and gone to heaven Struan

I see a lot of old stuff tucked away in sheds on my farm visits but never as much as this in one spot, especially with all the parts. That dust is actually quite valuable, proving they haven't been disturbed for decades.
Initially was going to dispose of the collection myself but realised I would struggle to do it justice on my own, so have now involved the Vintage Car Club who will run the Auction.
Amazingly all the cars were on blocks & bores oiled, so everything turns. We have since moved the cars to more secure storage & now sorting the parts. Regretfully no m/bike parts (yet) but did find some Singer bits!

Wish I had the time and skills to tackle a 'project' like one of those.

Evidently some of the cars were driven into the shed, so wouldn't take much to make usable.
Most interest so far is in the oldest (1934 Vauxhall ASX) & the newest (1947 Rover Sports).

Great find Struan. I cringed when someone wiped the windscreen tho...
Are they valuable? Are there many collectors for these kind of cars?

We have no real idea of values, hence auction with real low reserves. The owner accepts it's just what someone is prepared to pay on the day so advertising is going to be important, including overseas.
I suspect most interest will be from the various marque Club members. And yes - there is even a Ford 10 Club.

Actually there is something in the shed that would suit you - a stack of old gramophone records

From the video it looked very much like that, what I always wonder is why.....

Most of them look to be pretty good nick, and great examples as found original condition cars, that could keep their character and be driven as is.

    Very nice find.

Yes, it's very tempting to throw in a battery & some fresh fuel and take a couple for a spin, especially the Rover Sports. However have decided they are best kept "as is, where is".
We aren't going to groom them for the auction - just blew some of the dust off each car, to show how good the panel & paint is. But I'm not sure that was the right decision either.
Amazingly you can still smell the lovely leather upholstery in some of them.
